That's the spirit!

Hopefully, the only other adjustment you will have to make will be tightening the nut behind the wheel

That nut's always loose!

There are 4, 21mm nuts that hold the transmission to the black metal support that runs the length of the drive shaft. Two upper ones and two lower. One of the lower bolts was loose and the other gone! This caused my transmission to drop down about 1/2" to 3/4" and touch the front cross brace. Not sure all the proper terminology but I think you get the picture.

This was causing the transmission to jump up about 1" when I would push the gas while driving. I've had bumping sounds for a while now and I suspect this was the problem.

So to fix it. I will leave my car up on jack stands, use my floor jack to lift the transmission up about an inch, loosen all 4 bolts, adjust the height of the jack if needed, tighten the 4 bolts... drop and drive. I will be using Chaz's super secret scientific means for measuring the height of the transmission.

Do any of you guys get the ******* when working underneath your car while it sits on jack stands? Even though I have the wheels chocked and the brakes on, I can't stop thinking the car is going to roll off the stands and make me loose all my body fluids.

Thanks Jacke! Now you have to put up with a nut case this weekend!

Thanks Lego for making my day! I just received a package with my stickers and numbers. I now have magnetic RED #52's, large MAZDA logos for over my back wheels, Mazdaspeed for my hood, large SilverEIGHTStudio to go accross the windshild and track labels for the back windshild... LEGO ROCKS! Great pricing and a great friend.

I may not be able to drive fast but I will look like it till I get on track!

Don double and triple check the ppf spacing. thats the long metal brace thing
If it is off by just a 1/4 inch it can cause noise in trans, shifting problems etc.
while you are under there double check the exhaust support as it was surely strained during this.
Question is --why did this thing come loose?
You may want to put some locktight on those bolts.
You have my cell # --right. Sounds like it will be around 1:30 or so before yall hit Macon?

OD, I will dbl check all the bolts while under there. I did have trouble shifting into 3rd at TGPR. I didcussed that with TA while we were there. I think this is probably why. I think it could have started coming loose before then and the track probably released it. I have no clue when the nut came off though. Anyway, I have the replacement nut now (thanks to Paul at Mazmart) and will get her fixed tonight.

As far as meeting up goes. I'm waiting to hear back from TA. He's got a few things to work out. We'll probably talk this evening and we'll get back-at-cha.

Yessir! Packing is under way!

OD - more details tomorrow, but the plan is to leave from near Charlies at around 12:30 and hit Macon around 1:45 or 2:00. We all plan to have had lunch already.
Tech at the track ends at 6 - so hopefully we can get set up and get that completed by dark.

If not, they are doing tech Fri night at the host hotel. I have a feeling that will be a fun place to hang out and see who brung what and talk cars.

Are we there yet?

Thank you...

And it was weird... I would lose an instructor at 7:20 a.m. and by 8 a.m. another qualified instructor would be contacting me to if I had room for him. I'd lose a green at 10am and by 11, two greens would be contacting me.... In the last 72 hours I have probably lost as many as 20 and gained that many back... One who can't be with us for the weekend, wanted to know if he were to drive up could he come for BBQ... but last night, I received a call from some old Porsche buddies of mine, all PCA drop outs -- and they would like to visit us at the track on Saturday. I LOVE IT!!!

See you -- oh my, in one day...

Jackie

and if I haven't thanked all of you yet for making this fun, letting me participate on your forum and having the countdown that has put a smile on my face -- then THANK YOU and see you soon... real soon... like tomorrow

And thank you Jackie!
It is fun having you on here!
When this is over, don't you forget to remind us of the upcoming events.

We may be Track-Ho's, but now and then we need a track-pimp to point us in the right direction,

YeeeHaaa! w00t-w00t! 26 Hours and I will be on my way to Marietta to pick up TrackAddict and start the caravan with Dano and meet up with Olddragger in Macon.

OD, will you be waiting at the on ramp, or meet you at that gas station right off the interstate?

I work 7Pm to 7:30Am.
Even on my off days I pop awake in the middle of the night for a little while (unless I am really worn out by a day of track or something)

So at least I have an excuse... :-)

Bwa-hahahahahah!

Car is packed! Meeting times are set! Yeah baby!

So I did Pwn myself tonight...while packing the car, I am hearing this weird hissing noise. Damn, did I break something? Where the F is that coming from?

I had forgotten to switch the sunscreen bottle top to Closed - something leaned against it and now my whole trunk, track bag, me, etc smells like coconuts.
Ah well, minor issue...

But it's ok

I like coconuts
You can break them open
They smell like ladies lying in the sun
I like coconuts
You can break them open
They smell like ladies lying in the sun
And if I had my way
I'd give a coconut to everyone

Coconuts

See you guys tomorrow.

Great belly laugh first thing this morning.

All packed and getting ready to head to a half day of work. Will probably feel like a full day. I will try to concentrate on the job but it's gonna be tough.
