OD - thanks for the PM
Swoope - thanks for the PM
Jackie - thanks for the PM

Not to derail this thread but I want to give a heartfelt thanks to all my friends who have showed tremedous concern and support for me as I learn first hand what so many others have gone through. The phone calls, emails, and private messages mean the world to me. The cool thing is I feel it even from someone I have never met (Jackie). Thanks.

That said, I am confident that things will work out fine for me and my family. So I am not bummed out or moping around the house. I have not taken to drinking and sitting alone in a dark room. On the contrary, I am upbeat, positive, enthusiastic, and hopeful. I have a fresh job hunting haircut, a tweaked resume, and a good action plan for next week. All will be well and it is even better because of my friends here.

So here is the deal y'all...

It's almost 5 days until Roebling. Woot woot. Get pumped up! (can you tell I spent the morning at my daughter's cheer competition?)

Weather forecast is for unbelievably great weather all weekend

Swoope has kindly offered me a place to stay in Savannah if I can come to the event.

Jackie has invited me to the event and to the BBQ to hang out, enjoy my friends and have a change of pace.

So, maybe I will be there afterall. I need to see how the week goes. I may need to bum the ride to Savannah and back. Maybe the stars will line up for me on this one.

I want to say thanks again to all my friends here. You are the best.

I don't mind picking you up at your place. I will be leaving work around 11:30. At least that is the plan.

I don't like your weather forecaster - they got it all wrong!!!

It will be beautiful. We don't want to hear anything less!

From Accuweather.com
Friday, Nov 7 Day: High 77F/Real Feel 76 - Partly sunny
Night: Low 56F / Cloudy with a couple of showers

Saturday, Nov 8 Day: High 70s /Real Feel 69 - Mainly cloudy with a shower or thunderstorm around
Night: Low 48/Real Feel 45 - Evening shower, otherwise mainly clear

Sunday Nov 9: Day: High 60/Real Feel 60 - Mostly Sunny
Night: Low 45/Real Feel 43 - Clear

and http://weather.weatherbug.com/ is nice - looks better....

************
Truth is - we've always had great weather. I say we think positive and pay Mother Nature a few compliments. Afterall, at our DEs when she has caused it to rain, it has only happened during the lunch hour. I hope we haven't done anything to offend her.

And btw - that forecast is for Bloomingdale, GA 31302

And who here has every believed the advance weather forecast?

hahaha, this is a ritual for me if there is a hint of rain. Hell, we drove during the last hurricane when it came accross Alabama and we were at TGPR. Three hours of Tornado WARNINGS! We stayed on track. I think there were over 3 inches of rain. They just pointed in the SSE direction and said to keep an eye out. We looked like wet rats but all had smiles on our faces.

Yep, over 3 inches of rain - There was no DRY line, more like the "most shallow puddles" line. Big fun. (I could have done without the tornado's though)

I want to track in the snow sometime. THAT would be a hoot!
Top down with a fake reindeer stuck to the front of the hood!!

You'll need to provide equal restraints for the reindeer...

OMG! I've got some issues with my car that if I can't get them taken care of, I'm gonna be out this weenend.

My transmission jumps up about 1" when I push the gas. It really doesn't look good and is definitely not safe. Motor mounts, likely suspect? I'm getting a sharp "BUMP" sound when I hit the slightest bump, even at slow speed. It's in the front and I can't tell if it's left and right or just one side. I'm thinking that might be endlinks or maybe the motor mounts as well. I cannot get on track like it is. Stay tuned as "I'm in a tight spot!" (Some of you will recognize that quote.)

Now here's the problem. I have to go vote tonight. I'm not missing that. I don't have time to go see Charlie and I don't have time to take out my mid-pipe before stopping by a Mazda place. DAMNIT!

I would appreciate it if someone could help me figure this out. Else I'm toast for this weekend.

Please go vote. Then please make sure the car is fine...

You've never seen me cry before.... and I can assure you --- It isn't a pretty sight.

P.S. I got in another Mazda - he tracks a Miata, drives an Rx8 on occasion - Matt from NC

All seems well now. Charlie gave me some phone support this evening while I was under the car and I was able to locate the problem. I will get the part tomorrow and get-er-fixed.
