What time are you rolling through K-Town? I was going up with Dave T but no one is here to meet my daughter at the bus stop so I can't leave until 4 or so .

Believe me it wasn't easy leaving, I loved the two wheeled community. The first reason was I had no one to ride with here locally. There isn't a big sports bike community other than up at the gap and the same road gets old after awhile. My buddy would come up from South Carolina once a month or so but still I never really road until he came in. In SC they regularly have 20 plus riders.

The biggest reason though was that I have two daughters and the thought of not being around to watch them grow up just didn't sit well with me. My SC riding partner went down 2 times in 2 weeks on 2 new bikes. I decided that we were just pushing our envelope too much and it was a matter of time before someone got hurt. There are a lot of roads here near my house, one we call the baby dragon, and we were just riding so fast that an accident was inevitable. 160 plus in the straights, hanging off the side in the corners, you know the routine.

Believe me I am not the best rider by any means, there are much faster guys at the Gap but I found I was pushing harder and harder testing my skill level. Some of the roads in the area have so much debris and traffic (such as slow moving tractors) we really needed to be on a track for safety. I knew I wouldn't quit pushing so the only alternative for now was to sell the bike and replace it with the 8. I usually get a bike and ride it until I find I am getting to comfortable and riding too hard. I then sell it, wait awhile and start over. I am sure I will have another bike soon, I love them too much, but maybe this time it won't be a sportbike, maybe a cruiser who knows. I wouldn't have a choice but to go slower on a cruiser.

HELLO LeeP!! :D :D
Guy has landed.. so I've got InuYasha and Guy here in Chatt. As you can see though, we only go up 75 until Ocoee. then cross over. So, we won't be doing K-town :o
We should be leaving here about 4 - 5, depending on when I can get my hoopty-**** going! I'm stuck here at work right now, but after a meeting I'll be getting the heck outta dodge! :D

I started at ATL in general, so the steps aren't sequential (step 1 started at the capital :p )
Basically, get on 75N and then:

4: Merge onto I-75 N/GA-401 N via the ramp- on the left. 20.4 miles

5: Merge onto GA-5 N via exit number 268 toward CANTON. 72.1 miles

6: GA-5 N becomes GA-2 E/GA-515 N/US-76 E. 3.8 miles

7: Turn LEFT onto GA-60. 1.8 miles

8: Turn RIGHT onto GA-60 SPUR/MURPHY HWY. 7.5 miles

9: GA-60 SPUR/MURPHY HWY becomes NC-60 E. 5.0 miles

10: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto US-74 E/US-64 E/US-74 W. Continue to follow US-74 E. 30.3 miles

11: Turn LEFT onto US-129. 11.3 miles

12: Turn LEFT onto E MAIN ST. 0.2 miles

13: Turn LEFT onto MAIN ST. <0.1 miles

14: Turn RIGHT onto JUNALUSKA RD. 0.3 miles

15: Turn LEFT onto SNOWBIRD RD. 0.6 miles

16: Turn RIGHT to stay on SNOWBIRD RD. 1.1 miles

17: Stay straight to go onto ATOAH RD. 0.6 miles

18: End at 559 Atoah Rd Robbinsville NC

yeah I have it easy compared to many. Buddy from knoxville is also coming, and he only has an 88 mile trip ahead of him. Lucky dog. Very few events are close to me though, so this is nice. I would certainly go to sevenstock if it were only 3.5 hours from me!
