Eating plans for the Dragon event?
Hi,
Im a member of the S2ki website that will also be attending the Dragon event in two weekends. It's actually funny that I am posting here as my girlfriends father is the GM at twin cities Mazda and they will probably attend the run in an rx-8 . I am also a fan of the rx-8 and originally saw the renesis engine at a tour of the Mazda factory in Hiroshima, Japan when I traveled to see my family back in the summer of 2001. They also had the rotary powered Le-Mans winning racecar in a showroom there!
Anyways to get down to the point, our s2k club made reservations with the Tapoco Lodge weeks in advance and negotiated a modestly reduced rate for food as close to 90 people would be eating. Our fearless leader and organizer of the event received a call only a few days ago where the manager decided to cancel our reservation (which had already been confirmed) for a smaller group of 50. The manager was somwhat rude and told our organizer, ""... this group has no problem paying the prices in our menu."
I don't know what your group has decided to do as far as eating plans go but as one car enthusiast to another I would please ask that your group take this into consideration when choosing where to eat on your Dragon run and for any future event you may plan on the Dragon.
Looking forwards to seeing all of you at the there and hope that you will enjoy the road as much as we have... it is afterall our 4th annual run. Be safe and keep the shinny side up :D

saturday at 6pm, we're having a catered BBQ dinner at our place, the smokey mountain mansion.
we've got a nice big lawn, it'd be kick *** if some of you s2k guys came by after dinner for some photo ops...if you think your crew might be interested, PM me and we can talk details.

I'd say your issue is with the resturant. About 30 minutes before you head off to whever you are going, I'd simply flood their parking lot with S2K's. They might think twice before screwing over a large group again.

I don't think anyone took it that way. Rather, we're all grateful for the warning
I have a feeling we'll all do our best to spread the word about Tapaco Lodge now- the more people know about this, the better. What a charming way to treat customers. In fact, here's a link on how to contact these people if you want to let them know what you thinkg... http://www.tapocolodge.com/contactus.html
