-FL- BREVARD area RX8 BBQ *FL*
#26
Ok guys! Bicentennical Beach Park it is! Saturday the 27th! It's a smaller beach park just BARELY in Indian Harbor Beach. Literally 200 yards south from the Satellite Beach border sign. In fact, Google addresses it to Satellite Beach still. This is the best we can do for those thinking about driving up from West Palm Beach. We have several others driving from Merritt Island, Cocoa, Orlando, and one even from Tampa. This is a central location for all.
I had thought about Pelican park, but I know this park gets PACKED during the weekends. But the real kicker is that all the tables are way off to one side and the huge parking lot is way off to the other side. We wouldn't even be able to see our cars from the tables! What's the point?! Bicentennial Park has many tables and several grills. (many parks I visited only had one or two grills. That would suck if they're all taken when we get there)
Address:
98 Ocean Dunes Dr
Satellite Beach, FL
Right near the intersection of A1A and Pinetree Drive.
The real question is time. 2-3ish or 4-5ish? The later we do it, the less crowded the parking lot/tables will be. But I understand those wanting it around lunch time. My vote is for 4-5pm start time, but I'm VERY flexible and really don't care. Make your vote before Thursday. I'm locking everything in by Thursday. We can't have these decisions made last minute. (more than they already are)
Items we need:
1)charcoal/paper/lighter fluid/spatula
2)Burgers / Dogs
3) Burger/dog Buns /condiments/cheese
4)potato salad/chips
5)paper plates/napkins/forks
6)Soda/Beer/Water (unsure if the park allows alcohol, probably not)
Will be attending and will bring:
1: firebirdude - Ken - Will bring TBD

Damn it man, I have a wedding to go to Saturday, so it looks as if I won't be able to make it!
That park is only two miles from me and is a decent location. I think you all will have a good time. If it ends up being early in the day, I might be able to stop by for just a few and will bring something on the list. I'll let you know when you set the time. If no wedding then I would have preferred later in the day when it's cooler, but since I probably can't show, don't count my vote at all. Do it when you can and I'll stop by if at all possible.

Well.... here it is Friday evening and we've only got one solid yes. (DarkPoison) I've received a slew of PMs saying people cannot make it on Saturday. ![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Well..... the folks that requested Saturday have not since spoken up. If you guys would rather do it Sunday, then speak up. This is not my bbq, it's OUR bbq. But as it stands now, we can't possibly have a bbq with the two of us.

Dont feel bad, i respect that attempt. When i first got my car a few years ago, i set up a meet via cflrx8 or flrx8club or something in cocoa beach. About 8 people said they would come. then everyone canceled or didnt show up and i vowed never to organize anything for anyone ever again (at least for this car). I cant go sunday because we bought tickets for transformers 2 in imax. And for those of you who didnt know (i just found out today), if you have a visa signature card, you can use fandango.com and get 1 free movie ticket every month (imax counts). I wish i found out about it 2 years ago, so im spreading the word.
