From previous experience with meets, I think this is too early and a lot of people will end up canceling, that will not be a chance we will want to take. I think we should just go without reservations because we will probably only end up with 10-15 people that actually go. Then if that doesn't work out when we get there we can always figure something else out.

alright guys we have a situation...
Blanchard finally decided to call me back today, and I told them we were expecting 30-50 cars. they said that qualified as an event, and there was a $1000 event charge.
so obviously we're going to have to look into other options. i'll go wednesday and scope out some other places. really sorry about this, I guess since's it's a semi-private park they can do this.

When in doubt look into race rock.. not sure if they charge too though. I know a lot of orlando races have cruises up there and hang out for a while. BIG parking lot, bathrooms, only problem might be they probably wouldnt let us BBQ. Man someone have a big front yard up there?? Wheres our event coordinator?? She better get on the ball!!! Geez shes got the easy life.. throw a date out and everyone else does the work. hehe j/kin

Im game for meeting anywhere. The problem is more than likely gonna be finding somewhere that'll let us BBQ. Epitroid should be able to find a nice spot. He has good taste. (Owns a titanium grey also)

ok, i just called race rock, and I have some great news.
1. it's free
2. they'll reserve an entire lot for us all day
they can cater a buffet for us, but he suggested that we just do meals on our own. all they ask is that we behave and politely direct other customers of the restraunt to park elsewhere in the lot. if we decide to have any sort of sales, dj, etc I just need to let them know for accounting purposes, I don't believe there's an extra charge if we decide to any of that.
other than that, I've made a reservation there. it's a really cool place to have a meet, and we'll get alot of tourists coming out to check out the cars. it's seconds away from 2342134542 hotels on i-drive, so if anyone was planning on staying the night, that's available.
so here's what I was thinking, this by no means what we *have* to do, I'm just making these arrangments because my other location fell through.
1. meet begins at 10 am at race rock
2. we do lunch whenever, probably a later lunch. we can all go in at once and they can seat us all together with personal wait staff if we want.
3. we leave around 5 and head over to boardwalk bowl. it's about 30-45 minute drive so that will give us a nice little cruise.
4. we get to boardwalk bowl around 6 and bowl for a few hours
5. we leave and do dinner on our own, or we can make reservations somewhere else.
so anyways, thats an option we have now. let me know what you all think. i told them 30-50 cars, and he said that was no problem at all.

its a restraunt/exhibit on internation drive that's entirely racing themed. they love having meets like this there.
if you've seen that giant monster truck on the side of I4, that's where it is
getting there isn't too bad. the exit off i4 is only maybe a mile away, so you wont have too far to drive on I-drive
oh yeah, i forgot to mention. if we do the meet there, the only thing we cant do is sell our own food. im sure you can understand why.

FREE ADVICE!
WOW!! Great job EPI!! wait.....hold the phone.....umm....I gotta update the website AGAIN???
Just kidding!! No problem!!
Now I too, have some good news....
I found a place who will do our t-shirts at a steal! 100% shirts...2 colors...front and back for around $6.00 a shirt. I told them if they did us right, I would place a banner on the website for future groups to consider ordering their t-shirts from there as well.
I've posted samples of TWO FRONTS and FIVE BACKS on the website (link below). I need a quick poll from ya'll as to what designs you want. Sooo.....give me a two number combination... Like 2 (front) - 7 (back). 2-7 or 1-6 or 2-5....get it?
Rotary Meet T-Shirts
I'm kinda partial to the 2 - 7 combination myself. The only thing is they couldn't do black unless we wanted yellow and white lettering.....sorry Morgan.
Please let me know today/tonight what combination you would like....I need to place the order tomorrow, so they will be ready next week. Also...would somebody touch bases with the RX-7 guys. Have them email their preferences as well...hope the design pleases most everyone.
That's it for the t-shirts....want some more cool news? Okay....
Stopped by Tom Bush Mazda on Atlantic Blvd. today...talked with them a while....and told them about our Orlando meet. They said they'd like to contribute a door prize for the event. We will have everyone fill out a slip, place it in a bowl or sumthin' and choose a winner. I'm not tellin ya what it is, but IT'S WAY KEWL!! (hint....it has a Renesis logo on it....bwaaaaaaaaa).
That's it for now...this thang is beginning to look like we'll be having a GREAT time....how many T's should I order?
Later....um....Jaguars. <snicker>
