GA RX-8 Club Labels
I will be bringing the following GA RX-8 Club labels with me to Barber:
6 - Gray (Dark): L8APEX, Whenson417 & Gimlet (3 extras)
2 - Blue: Starkey (1 extra)
1 - Red: Val
1 - White: TrackAddict
The above have paid for theirs. If you ordered but have not paid... they are fair game so you best speak up.
Anyone wanting one of the 4 extra's please contact me ASAP and I will put your name on them. 1st come. I consider Pam to be first on the gray if she wants one because we could not get her color. On the blue, I anticipated rxeightr to purchase a sheet in blue but if he doesn't want it, it will be up for grabs as well.

OK, that leaves one gray sheet and one blue sheet.
Isujim, the cost is $13 and consider one with your name on it.
Pam, we talked about this at Road Atlanta and thought that a darker gray just might be the ticket for you. As it turned out by accident, that's what we had made up. Lucky I guess!

I went by the track around 1-3PM. There were couple of 8s at the corral. I didn't go in because I had to go see my engine builder at the pit. Looks like its going to be a HOT one. I was sweating bullets when I was there for 2 hours.

I just finished grilling 40 dogs. I am ready for a shower and to wind down with the Mrs TrackAddict.
I'll see caravan #2 at the IHOP. Don't wait for me to order as if I am not there at 8am, I am coming late and won't be having b'fast. In fact, who ever is there first, go in and get a few tables.

Thanks!!
Thanks to everyone who came out to Barber to enjoy the festivities. Thanks to all who brought all the great food we had to chow on.
A thank you to ROAR and SpeedSource for taking us through their race cars and making us feel welcome in their paddock.
It was a shame the race was called as I know we would have had RX8s on the podium.
Hope to see y'all around...

Normally after an event I mention everyone's name and give a little spill on what we did but... just damn! There were too many for me to remember and I'm not about to start trying because I know I would leave someone out. So let me just say that I really enjoyed being with what was considered by BARBER to be the second largest group. The first was BMW. We definately made a showing and made all of us proud to be there. Watch Speed TV when they play the delayed brodcast and I'm sure you will see the camera pan to the GA RX-8Club as we were front and center in a very stretigic location.
Great time gang! As TA said... Special thanks to Rob Whitener of ROAR RACING and to Sylvain Tremblay of Speedsource. Both were gracious host and took time from their very busy schedule to pay us a little attention and open up their paddock to a bunch of people with questions I'm sure they have been asked a thousand times.
We had 21 RX-8's, 3 Miatas, and 3 RX-7's... Oh, the 7's were nice. That's 27 cars! So many cars that we could not get a good photo with all of them in so we had to take several shots. What a fantastic turnout. The only thing that could have made it better would have been for the rain not to end the event.
Well, I'm too tired to post pics. I'll do it tomorrow. L8 should have a ton of great pics as well. He came prepared to shoot with a nice digital SLR and it looked like he was getting some good stuff.

I'm sorry for rushing out of the place.. I had to go see my engine builder at the paddock and by the time we were done with lunch and the museum, it was time for us to go..

What a large time. I really hate not meeting everybody, but as always it was good to renew friendships & meet some new folks.
And the grub was good too.

OK, it's picture time! Although I'm uploading quite a few images here, I'm uploading a ton of em to my silvereightstudio.com website. They should be up later this evening.

Thanks to all of the RX-8 club members that came by the Roar paddock to wish us well and learn about our team. I know everyone was excited to see how well all of the teams with RX-8s did throughout the race. The highest position Roar made it to was 7th place after starting the race in the eleventh position. Unfortunately, we did not finish that well. It seems we still have some work to do identifying components that need improved reliability. I am pleased to say we have solved our over heating problems, but wouldn't you know it, something else jumped up and bit us. I hope to see you all in the paddock again next year if not before. Rob
