I too had a great time. As mentioned, there are too many people to say thanks for coming to, we had such a great turnout. It was a pleasure meeting some new folks, and hanging out with old friends.

Sundays race was really cool too, the rain let up, and the track dried out. We managed to get recgonized by race control during the practice session, since we were about the only people on the hill in the rain...for practice.

I took about 600 pictures, after reviewing them, only about 200 of them are any good, but nothing like what silverEIGHT brings to the table. I will try to post some of them up later tonight.

Thanks to everyone who came out to enojy the good racing, good food and good company.

Now, on to next years...how many can we get for next year. 40,50, lets hope so.

Silver...thanks for all the great photos! I enjoyed seeing them.

Everyone- it was good to see you. I was disappointed because we didnt get to visit more. I was watching the race down in front of the Bradley Arant tent, and had intended to finish up the race with you guys. Oh well. Hope to see everyone soon!

Alas, "my" #10 Suntrust Pontiac/Riley finished 2nd yesterday- a great finish that moves the team into 2nd place in the points, but unfortunately even further behind the Krohn team that won.

What a BEAUTIFUL track. Looks like it has some nice elevation changes. I might be up for a trip down there early next year- I have a friend in Atlanta I can stay with on the way down. Keep me posted. Perhaps Barber in February and then I'd love to see you guys up here at VIR in March-April.

The Suntrust car was strong but that dang Krohn team car was awesome. Grate racing. I watched Suday's race on Speed. It was kinda nice relaxing in the house while working on all the images from Saturday's events.

Don (and others),

I'm an active flickr member, and noticed that there are no Grand-Am or Rolex Series groups. So I went and created them. If you don't know what flickr is, it's a photo sharing website. I used to keep a bunch of stuff on my website, but now just upload to flickr because it is easier and they get more views. Though I'm not as good a photographer as you are Don.

Rolex Sports Car Series
Grand-Am Racing

I'd love it if you all would upload some pics. Don, you got one of the ones I was hunting for... #70 perfectly framed and not blurry or cut off. I was always doing one of the three. Doh! Great photos as usual!

Lissa and I really enjoyed meeting everyone. I'm going to work on getting us up to Talledega if we can get that event organized. She is already caving a bit on me driving on the track (as long as there is an instructor available).

Hey everyone - you forgot to take a picture of this car at Barber

Hope you guys had fun there and notice all the weird statues on the track.

See you guys in a couple of weeks at RA!

Unfortunately, we did not finish that well. It seems we still have some work to do identifying components that need improved reliability. I am pleased to say we have solved our over heating problems, but wouldn't you know it, something else jumped up and bit us. I hope to see you all in the paddock again next year if not before. Rob
Hi Rob,

I'm sorry I missed the action at Barber (I had to go the opposite direction to pick up the kids from summer camp). When and where is your team racing again? I'd like to make it to one of the other races.

I got a question since I wasn't with the group that got the tour of the race cars. What exactly do they do to the engines?? I know open exhaust/intake, but what about porting and stuff like that. Also what do the cars weight??

lego, if you want it, I can send you a high res version of that. The ones posted in the GA forum are scaled down, so as not to be so big.

I am hoping to be able to work on getting some more shots posted tonight, but we will see. I have been very busy since we got back from Barber.

Thanks for the kind words, on the amateur photography.

It was great to see everyone this weekend, made the hot temperatures worth enduring! Too bad about the weather (I felt like Dorthy in OZ when we had to break down the easy-up/sail) Saturday but Sunday made up for it. It cooled off and was cloudy for most of the race! And wasn't our large group impressive!!! Thank you to everyone for all the food and great company. I especially liked meeting Baby Labop, so cute and LiL' Phlash. Can't wait to see you all again.

Y'all don't forget, the ST-GS class race is televised on SPEED Channel tomorrow at 1PM. I have my DVR set to record it, I want to see if our group got on TV during the opening, when the camera was on us, and we were waving and acting like a bunch of fans high on race fuel.

I just watched it (tivo'd it). I remember those clouds looking a bit more menacing as they were rolling towards us. It was nice to figure out what caused the yellows tho. Only one happened where we could see. I also must have been looking away when Haskell was in the lead...
