I think (dont hold me to it) the cross street is Steeplechase. If you get to Nesbit Ferry, you have gone too far. I don't know the address, but it should be pretty easy to find.
ok, i think i know exactly where that is.

if anyone else needs directions, here's a link.

Probably cant make the meeting but wanted to add this. It would be cool if the cover page had rolling images ( a few seconds between shots) of the members cars doing various things (tracking, having mods done, sitting there looking good...) and when you mouse over them you can click and go to that members posts (i.e. vids, other photos, etc. ) or go to the section that that image portraits. Just an early morning thought.

Thanks val, I think rotating images on the home page could be fun. A java script should do that with no problem. Here are a few things that have been discussed already and we will be looking into tomorrow:

- Individual email accounts, EX: valpac@garx8club.com
- Personal web page to show off car
- Individual links to videos and photos
- Calendar of events
- local forum (not to conflict with this one but to complement it)
- Contact list (private to members only)
- Member images rotating on home page

Everyone, please feel free to offer suggestions and I will add them to the list of discussion topics for tomorrow.

I think we should keep our same screen names from this forum for consistancy... what do you think?

Hear hear! I was going to mention that I was thinking about building or buying a premade server when I got back to the states and running it myself. *its still a thought in the air right now* but if I do I'll put it at your dissposal. I was just going to run it as a gaming server. I'm still debating wether or not I want to throw a couple grand down on that or if I just want to save up for mods for the car.

- Individual email accounts kinda redundant. we can use this forum, no?
- Personal web page to show off car cool
- Individual links to videos and photos
- Calendar of events
- local forum moderated? with rules? that could ban a person?

- Contact list (private to members only) optional

- Member images rotating on home page

I think we should keep our same screen names from this forum for consistancy... what do you think? A change could be good.

Here is the meeting in brief:

1. Charlie will have a Flash ad below our header
2. We will have a text based forum
3. We will have an image that rotates through all member cars on the home page
4. We will have email (can forward to another personal mailbox)
5. Members contact list page will have user name and link to our garx8club email only
6. Username does not have to be same as RX8Cllub.com
7. Every member will have a page to present their car and such
8. We will use “Gallery” for members to present images as they desire in categories

POSITIONS:

Owner: Charlie Shatzen (Mazcare)

Administrator: SilverEIGHT
Site Management
Design & Production

Forum Moderator: L8APEX
Watch every word you say!
Will help with photoshop

Gallery Moderator: Glyphon
Manage the image presentation
PHP, Flash and Design

General help where needed
Starkey
Asmoran (Coding and such)

We did not discuss the use of videos because I forgot! However if you will look at TrackAddicts signature you will see what I think is the best way to utilize Google’s movie capabilities and not use up our space and bandwidth.

Sounds like a good setup. I took 2 years of commercial art working with PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator so if you need help restoring pictures etc etc put me to work.

OK, thanks! We will keep you in mind. Illustrator is a great application that most do not know anything about but it is one of the most powerful applications you can work in.

True enough, I'm rusty on Illustrator and gotta dig through my software for it. But once i start back up, it's like ridding a bike.

it is just text, not as fancy as the one we have here. it does not have the capability to upload images, not sure about avatars and that sort of thing. it will be just a simple means of communication between members.

Cuz the simple forum is built into the web hosting package, making things much easier to get up and running.

Super, Images can be used in this forum... it's just not as easy to use. That is where "Gallery" comes in. It is a standard forum as you are used to... complete with avatars and smillies but it is an Open Source version and FREE!

We have a long way to go Phlash as we are just getting started. When the presentation is looking and functioning properly, we will make it available. Until then it will just be the temporary page up now.
