Thanks!

No - to test the training wheels. That was sarcasm.
Seriously though, I think it would allow us a chance to work on our skills turning right and left. It would also allow us to evenly shred our tires. L8APEX will have brand new tires that need to be corded on the left and right.

By training wheels, do you mean dsc? yeah, dont know why Mazda would even install such a device on our cars, noone ever spins out in the eight, hell I'll bet noone even has any incidents that require the safety net to intrude. I have some wire cutters if anyone wants to permanently disable the thing.

Hey, we got an extra two spots, if you and your buddy want to come down. Just make sure he is onboard with the whole, I am king thing (you know what I mean).

Just have him send his money like you guys have been doing.

Thanks.

Is that for Saturday? If so, reserve it and it'll be me and a friend (WRX). I'll send the $$$ ASAP.

OD, you better jump on that Saturday opening.

And yeah, lets do half the day in one direction, and switch it for a while. Cause, yeah, my tires need to go bare evenly, on their first day out. Can we get some skid pad time too?

STF, by your count, who is on for Saturday as of now?

I have to put all this together, it may be tonight. However, there are several of you who have sent money, so to you guys, thanks.

Now, to address one question posed to me, about passing. At first, I want to restrict passing to the front and back stretch, however, for the advanced guys, you too TA, it will be pass by point by, either side. (TA if you don't want to do this, we won't.) However, this is the most effective way to maximize track time.

STF - I am going to defer to your judgement on this. You have a lot of experience in instructing/driving/and putting on this sort of event. I am also looking to you to work with me on key skills so I can run HPDE3 where passing is open with point-by and progress towards instructor certification.

I think you would be fine, just be AWARE on the track. Do a first session with us, and then see what you think.

I'm good with what ever rules you set for us STF. And being very aware on track is a good thing to learn, in my one NASA event, too many people in HPDE 1 had no idea there was someone behind them.

It won't be that bad, but I would suspect I should be in the 1.07's by end of day. BTW, the SM track record is 1.09, which I have already beat in the AMS Evo.

Awesome! That power is all useable since you can definately put it down with AWD. Add to that your R compounds and I can only imagine...

Oh, I've been thinking of getting Hawk pads put on before this. Where are you all buying them from?

I had the pleasure of driving STF's car yesterday. It's a bit of an understatement to say that the difference is dramatic.

I get my Hawk pads from tirerack.com

I got my Hawk pads from Rotary Extreme. When I was looking, and trying to find a supplier, they were the only folks that carried the HP+ for the front and rear. Other suppliers only had HPS for the rear. They are very grabby, quick stopping pads. And they put about an inch of dust a week on the wheels. The rears even look bad after only a week.

Well Damn, Do I need to bring the 7 out? I doubt the cage will be done by track time but I guess I will announce that my pal Paul and I are going to build a full on TRACK ATTACK car. The V8 RX7 is going to be gutted, caged, fitted up with some serious rubber and wheels (HOOSIERDADDY and something wide and lite) The hp is already a known fact but I am shooting for a weight of around 2500 lbs. If I can do this I'll be looking at power to weight ratio around 6.6:1 using wheel horsepower for the formula. It actually looks evencrazier if I use bhp----5.75:1.
It's too cool a car to sit gathering dust most of the year and it will have 2 seats w/harnesses to get the most fun out of track days.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EACH AND EVERYONE!!!!!

Charlie
