Me too!

I'm picking up two OEM wheels today which will complete my track set. My ebay Potenzas ($100 ea. w/300mi.) will be in on Tuesday. Where is the best place to get your tires mounted if you are not purchasing the tires from the shop?

Gran Turismo does a great job, on the car balancing too. I know it is a long way for you. I found that most national tire chains, will NOT mount tires thta you bring in. I found this out when I was going to order the tires online, and bring them in.

I've had my track tires mounted at Kauffman before. I also had Tires Plus flip them for me. But, it is true most national chains don't like to do it. Phlash uses Firestone. I would just call around or go to GT. GT is pretty spendy though but they are reputed to do the best job in town. I am cheap cheap cheap. Or, maybe I just like spending my money on track. Or GT is pretty far from me...

I'll try my local Goodyear guy I've used for 20 years and see if I can talk him into it. If not then I do the GT route.

I use Firestone too. I got their Lifetime Balance (one time $50) and only pay like $30 - $35 bucks every time new tires are mounted or moved around and high speed balanced.

silver use the most worn tires for the track---right. Dont go out there with the o40's with only 300 miles on them. With all that thread they will heat up big time. especially on a tight track like that. If you have tires(o40's) that are just down to the bars--- that would be perfect for a 1st day.

Oh yeah, since it's your first track day, you're going to need to bring a towel, maybe two!

Thanks OD, I had planned to use my new ones for daily drivers and use the used ones for tracking like you suggest.

And I thought since Charlie wasn't going to make it with the shower curtain or tarp, I was going to be safe!

Silver,

Don't worry, I have the tarp covered.....It's big enough to prevent the overspray from hitting the rest of us......

nope, he will be in Daytona at the race.

So, I know of a couple of people that are going to show up on Friday the 27th, STF, 32v, me, Lego, WRX boy, Silver, his brother, and possibly phlash. And I know the TA is coming over Saturday morning.

For the rest of you, what are your plans? Arriving Friday night, or Saturday morning?

only 20 more days.....

IIRC, MisterWilson has first dibs on it. He to the best of my knowledge can not be reached, then rxeighter is on the waiting list. But TA or STF might know better.

With all the track stuff we're talking about, nobody has talked about food. Are we grilling out with Valpac's nifty little matching Velocity Red Grill again?!?!? I'll bring the soft drinks in a cooler and some sides if needed.
