Georgia RX-8 Club Banner
#79
We already have a few donations - thanks to SilverEight, L6APEX, Valpac, and olddragger.
Just to be clear on something - Mazcare sponsors the GARX8Club but they don't need to pay for everything we decide to do. This community is only as good as we make it. Donations to cover the cost of the banner are strictly voluntary and highly appreciated. We would love to see everyone attend our many events: track days, autocrosses, excursions to race events, dyno days, fun get togethers. It is a good time and this club has forged many friendships. I'll get off my soap box now. Let me know if you can kick in $5.

TA, how about hopping over to the club forum, start a thread, and I will sticky it, so that everyone who goes there, can read it, and hopefully feel moved to help out. I doubt many of them are reading this thread.

Banner Fund Statement
Folks - below is a summary of the funds we have in hand. As you can see, we currently have $156.50 in total. I expect we will collect some more over the next week. We also have at least one person (olddragger) who will contribute cash. Paypal has an associated cost but it is very easy to deal with hence we had the option of using it.
The banner cost exactly $121.90
That leaves us with a current balance of $34.60
An idea was floated to buy the EZ Up that SilverEight bought personally for last year's Petit Lemans and make that an item available for our events. He has approx $90 in it and stated he will kick in $10. At this time this is simply a suggestion and has not been tabled for discussion. If you see a surplus of funds and wonder why you would want to participate in this fund raiser, the answer is we will probably find other things to use the money for that would benefit the RX8 community or enhance our activities. All donations are strictly voluntary and do not obligate anyone to participate in an event. Additionally, your contribution entitles you to voice an opinion as to the allocation of funds but does not guarantee that you will get your way particularly in the absence of the support of other members. We want to serve the majority and I promise not to make any unilateral decisions. I also am willing to step aside as the acting treasurer if anyone wants the task. I was not elected to this position but assumed it because I organized the Barber event and they needed a contact person for their contribution. If someone would like the responsibility and has the backing of our community, I will be happy to turn it over. I don't mind handling this responsibility at this time if the majority of people are fine with the status quo.
One more point... I do not want to open up a seperate bank account for the GARX8Club as it will probably get eaten away by monthly banking fees. Our current system is pretty crude, yet seems effective. I have the cash in an envelope at home and will cash out the paypal account and put that $$ into said envelope as well.
