Don't recall seeing a Red 8 today. I think I saw every color but Green and Gray. Sorry I missed ya.

Did you park your car near a blue RX-8 today in the paddock? I was working at turn 1 and saw a photographer get into a silver one parked next to me.

Yep! That was me. I walked outside the track from there up as far as I could go to turn 6.

I'm sorry I didn't get to talk with you. I hope you got some great pictures. I didn't get many of them myself, because we're not allowed to take pictures during a race.

It was fun Friday night there. I hung out with the Mazda prototype crew, and asked a lot of questions about the car. As I was leaving, the President of Mazda NA was walking in. It's great to see the Mazda factory put some support behind this new team!

Where were you stationed, inside or outside turn one. I made a point to speak to all corner worksers I passed. Turn one on the outside, three workers sitting in the shade relaxing between races, I think my remark was something like, "What are y'all doing sitting down on the job?"

I parked there hoping to meet up with who ever was driving the blue RX. Plus it was about as close as I could get to turn 1 and most of all... it was right next to the port-a-potty!

I was inside (at the flag station). The only way you could get close to me would be to get near the fence in the Pro Pits. Jim Downing came to visit there, and Nabil came to visit for a few minutes on Saturday. I met up with a couple RX-7 folks on my lunch break - Holly and her friend.

Some of us RX-7 owners will be there on Sunday. Let us know if we can meet up with you guys somewhere. A couple of the 7 guys from Alabama my be over to report about the sportsbook.com car for the RXTuner. We may go in to Roswell afterward for some Sushi. If someone wants to PM me their phone number we can try to hook up with the 8 owners.

Holly
Kurt Bob, it was good to meet you. Hope to see you in Atlanta again, having fun with your car. I would have liked to met more of you 8 owners.

I'm so glad to see Mazda involved in racing again. Great race for the sportsbook.com 3-rotor (or as the annoucer said .. "triple rotor"). Got the finish and 2nd in class 1st time out. woohoo

Look for the article and pics of the coverage of the race by Phil (herblenny on the forum) in the RXTuner, in the next few months.

Holly

P.S. Witzer .. were you there?

It was good to meet you too. It definitely was a beautiful weekend, and a successful one for the Mazda team. I think I mentioned to you that I have a Miata also. And it's always so exciting to see so many Miatas, RX-7's, Protege's, Mazda6's Mazda 3's and Formula Mazdas racing every weekend all over the country. I think there were about 40 FM's racing on Saturday. It's a great time to be a Mazda owner!

Yes, I was there. Exactly where we said we'd meet up, but no one else showed up (...though an unrelated yellow RX-8 was there).

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Up the hill, left over the bridge, then on the right behind the Porsche, Panoz, and Superformance parking areas. Parked under the trees on the hill down toward the tunnel.

Of course, I did wander a bit, but I spent 75% of my time on the hill watching turns 10A and 10B.

After that, I went up to Murphy, NC to spend a week in the cabin and stumbled on Deals Gap and rode the Dragon.

Now I'm back down in Tampa.

Holly, I didn't get your private message until just now. Sorry.

Sorry I missed you Jeff. I was there on Sunday and sat in that area for a good part of the race with another RX-7 guy. I didn't see the likes of you there

Just remember the next time you get up this way, that I'm up here. You can stop at the Downing/Atlanta shop and get the tour next time.

How about Petit LeMans?

Take care,
Holly
