OK, the EZ-Up has been purchased. 10'x10' on sale for $88.12 + tax = $93.40. I will bring it on Saturday morning.

As of right now, we have

45.00 GA RX8Club kitty
25.00 BOOSTD 7
10.00 SilverEIGHT

80.00 TOTAL

$13.40 Balance

If more money is collected than needed for the EZ Up, we will just put it in back into the Club kitty.

L8, don't forget to bring the banner.

My car is spotless and under the cover in the garage and I'll see you guys on Sunday. I have got to stay at the shop on Saturday to make up for the last 2 weekends spent fing off out of town. I know Saturday is gonna be the better day up there due to weather but the benefit of staying at the shop on Saturday is having a ringside seat for the BLUE ANGELS!!! They started flying in today and it just never gets old seeing them fly over.

On another note, Project Snowball is back from Mandeville Auto Tech and the cage is nothing short of outstanding. The car leaves for the paint shop this weekend and then it's back for re-assembly. The convertible is running and will be the focus for the weekend as the custom diff will be in on Friday. The 3rd gen is finished and dynoed (313rwhp/329rwtq) and is really cool.

Have I mentioned how much I love my work?

Said this on rx7club yesterday, but weather outlook is looking up! The models have the weekend storm trending toward slowing down - translation, no rain until Sunday afternoon. And it looks like no thunderstorms, just showers.

TA and Francois are already going out there today, makes me jealous.

So do we still have the same group going, have not heard from Pam or AC8 in a while, y'all still coming out tomorrow.

I can't wait to go run around in the mini's and the lotus. Gotta remember to bring the camera.

Just got back home. Traffic was a biatch. I left the track at 3. Anyway, tomorrow looks to be great. Although I didn't see the RX792P run, the Dennis Spencer GT class RX8 ran in qualifying. This is the carbon fiber bodied 3 rotor car built by Roger Mandeville for this years 24 hours of Daytona. I am not sure how that qualifies as a vintage car. Maybe since the 24 hours is already over, it is a historic car right? Anyway it sounded awesome. I hope to walk the paddock tomorrow. Today was just an excuse to go track touring. Francois and I were at the back of the track tourers and got to make a few spirited runs through some key turns like the esses into 5, turn 7, and turn 10a/b. It was at a much slower pace then a HPDE but fun regardless for $35. See y'all Sat.

Awesome! Can't wait. I will have the good digital video with me tomorrow and will record some of the great sounds. I'm too excited. Gotta go wash the wheels for tomorrow.

Did your car have the Red/Black interior? I been wanting to see a white with that combination and I must say, it rocks! Hope to see ya tomorrow. I had to bow out a little early today. We have an E-Z up located in the turn 10a/10b. We should have the GA RX8 Club banner up tomorrow. Didn't bring rope today.

I shot video of the all Mazda race. Hope it turns out OK. The wind was blowing real hard which makes for a lot of irritating noise. I will try to post some of the footage soon. Also there was a F-1 car that was awesome. I had a problem shooting it because it was too damn fast!

Track Touring was slow and fast. Had the opportunity to take most all the turns at 3/4 speed but it was an immediate brake to keep from plowing into the train.

If you like the sound of the rotary engine... you are gonna love this! What a sweet opportunity to see so many high performance machines on the track at one time... together! I feel privileged.

It was great hanging out with L8APEX, Pam, SilverEight, TorqueAholic, Ivan, Starkey, and Marietta8 at various points during the weekend. I managed to attend all 3 days of festivities track ho style. I also manged to do track touring all 3 days. The sessions were about 25 minutes long and if you hung back, you could run through a few strategic corners at a pretty decent clip, but not quite full tilt boogie. I was typically 1 gear down from what I would be on a track day (using 2nd gear instead of 3rd). It was still a blast and a good way to keep me satisfied until Roebling in 3 weeks. The Mini Cooper autocross was OK and the Lotus Elises were great. I wish I could have had more time in the Elise. No cones were hurt in my drive.
Looking forward to next year!

Nice pics TA. Track touring was more like Track day with traffic jams. What a blast. I actually hit 97 coming out of turn 12. The guy riding with was grabbing the oh **** bar and putting on the air brakes and that stupid gray Corvette kept getting in my way on turns. TA can tell you about him. It was great seeing the group again and hanging out. I took off to take photos and you guys were gone when I got back so I went to drive the Elise again. (A silent moment for 6 cones after the first big sweep.) That car is fun to drive. Met a few of the RX-7 group and enjoyed the conversation as well as Paul from Mazmart and Boosted 7.

The Mitty is definitely on my list for 2007. What a hoot! It's not just a spectator event guys, There is plenty to do. I have to admit something though, I was a bad boy. After getting out of the Elise, I made a mad dash for the skid pad with my DSC turned off and got sideways for a one lapper. Too much fun.
