Being held at Reynolds Industrial Park just south of Jacksonville
First event of year was held there last month, and NO BS class cars showed up. The course must have been very short, as common times were in the 30-35 second range, and fastest time of the day was 26.894 seconds.
I have no idea what the venue looks like. Will likely head over there on Saturday to view the lay of the land.
Skillmaker and Tellurium will be co-driving the RX, so we'll see what happens. It will be the first time for Tellurium running the RX under the clock.

Finished the Autocross, 2nd behind another RX8
Had terrific fun. Great mix of cars and people. (Everything from a DSP MR2, like a way-fast go-cart on steroids, to the infamous supercharged Miata, to a 383 crate-engine powered Chevy Nova, and the odd-and-end Lexus and etc thrown in). There were 80+ cars, and the course was fabulous. Set up for about a 50-60 second run. Fastest time of day was around 48 seconds.
The course is on an abandoned airstrip-like area owned by Roe Racing (who do tuning and upgrades for Vipers). They have a large multi-surfaced landing-field type area along with a large circular skid-pad. Some of the surface is nice, some is gritty, and some is just crappy (and some is even ceramic tiles, used for wet-testing traction control, I think). We did not use the skid-pad area or ceramic tile areas in the autocross.
Met Tim, who got rid of his Miata and ran his somewhat new titanium colored RX8. Tim seemed to have the skills and knowledge, and equipment (even checking tire temps across the face of the tire to make sure that camber/pressure settings were good). He obviously has a lot of autocross experience. Also seems like a terrific individual.
Met Steve who was the 4 time DSP SCCA champion, running the MR2 mentioned above. He and I share a love for Fiat X1/9s. His Fiats were DSP winners four times, until they kept getting re-classified.
My 24K mile 3 year old Bridgestone Potenzas are now officially 'Slicker than owl-snot' (Don't ask me how I know for comparison ). That is my ONLY excuse. Tim beat me by a second and a half or so (the results haven't been posted yet). We had a LOT of fun, and my son ran a couple great runs in the RX as well.
Next week we order the new Kumho Ecsta MX street tires, and that gives me a month or so to break them in before the next autocross.
Next autocross is 2007-03-25. Same place!

Skillmaker, What is the status of this event? I just happen to be there in Reynolds last year (07) teaching my daughter to drive when I saw y'all driving through the park. I followed y'all out to the paddock and walked around for a while. Is there anything else planned for this venue or is it just in Gainesville & Savannah now?
