Heard there was an RX-8 at a dealer in central Florida (Ocala). Stopped by and sure enough there was a Yellow RX-8 out front. Grand Touring package with Nav, six speed, black leather. Looked at the sticker price and it was $33,100. On the right margin was additional pricing. Get this: Dealer profit, fabric protectorant, and paint sealer, Total price: $40,000.00

tell them to f*** off and showem the post from mazda that says they would hope dealers dont try to markup these cars, they are a HIGH production car!i would punch that salesmanager right in the face.[sorry, just venting, got mine for msrp but these aholes dont deserve to have one on there lot]i hope no one here on this board pays more than the car is worth, banks dont like that, you have to get gap covarage and you just took it right in the a**.not to mention that 10,000 to 12,000 dollers you lost as soon as you sign.

Early this year my buddy here in Atlanta Ga bought a 350Z from the local dealer. It was the 3rd car sold in GA. A beautiful black one with orange leather, all the options. He would get ridiculous stares everywhere he went. More so than my brand new yellow H2. Anyway, he had paid 7500 premium on the car. He said it was a collector's item, it was the first year of the return of the Z. He could turn around and sell it from 40,000 in two years . . . all this nonsense. Well you know what happened right?. It is a mass production car, and nobody gives a rat's *** if it was the 3rd in GA or what. He has 9000 miles on it. With the 2004 Z's coming out and the convertible, he got screwed. Forget the $7500 extra he paid, he lost the dealer prep and other fees, the sales tax, the title, registration, ad valorem etc. And now the car has depreciated over $5000 in 6months (check edmunds). He has lost over $15,000 to date. DO NOT BE A SUCKER. IF YOU ARE LIKE ME AND LIKE TO GET CARS ON PREORDER OR AS SOON AS THEY COME OUT, REALIZE YOU NEED TO PAY AT OR LESS THAN MSRP.

True true all true
Get it somewhere else. I paid MSRP and the dealership's owner told the salesmen that they are not going to add to the MSRP at Scanlon in Fort Myers, FL. Paying MSRP is bad enough. They killed my on my trade. (I think anyway)
