Little Talladega March 23rd
To all my GA RX8 tracking buddys, there is a one day event I thought you should know about at Little Talladega that TA, TA2 and I went to last year. The Z Nationals will host a open track day at LT March 23rd for $99 if you pre-register before March 1st. And they let any car run this day - not just Z cars.

99$ is not a bad deal. Although, I might need new tires after a day there again. how much track time did you end up getting last year? I might actually want to do this one this time. I missed out last time. I wish it was not on a Friday though. Might still take the day off and go hit the go fast track pipe.

There was barely anyone there last year, and by about 1PM - they just opened the track wide open, then by 4PM there was only one person driving the track. And that was on a Saturday, this year it is on a Friday.

Why do you guys think I hang out with you instead of Z guys, most of them are the Mod type and spend way more money on their car than mine, and have no idea how to drive it, nor do they know how to tune what they installed.

And we enjoy having you in our group, a track junkie is a track junkie, no matter what they drive.

Afraid i cant do this one--I would probably eat all my tires up on that track--but vicariously I will be in attendance!

Don't expect a 80-100 person organization, but for the 20 odd people we had - it was perfect.
The old layout with the few people we had, we only needed one corner worker station manned. I think the new layout will take 2 or 3 manned stations.

LOL--now that was a good one. But then again who the hell need power steering at 140mph.
Oh but then I forget the parallel parking you have to do with those big tractor tires you run..
Maybe if you rigged up a clutch on your power steering and wound up the 20B to 10K and popped the clutch it might surprise ya. It may run the steering and the alternator.
Marry Christmas all

I'm definitely interested. I normally do Little Talladega with the Peachtree Miata Club; however, the Miata club hasn't put the event on their schedule yet. I'll wait a little while before I make my move.

Rode by there the other day and right now they are just doing the new section but I don't know if they are going to repave the old or not.... you will not reconize the track though it is much different. I will post in here if they start paving the old section. I just live 8 miles from the track so I go by there often.
Looks like they are moving pit road also. Looks like it is going to be next to the highway now. The track runs out in the field behind the consession stand. does not look like the same place at all.

yeah, the drawing they have up on their website looks very different, they got rid of the kink just before the front straight. I will probably do this whether they repave the whole track or not. It was fun, and I can't pass up track time that is this inexpensive.

Some pics of the new surface. It looks much wider that it was.
