I've had my car for 6 months or so give or take now. And since that time I've tried my best to be apart of some kind of rotary community.
In that time I've been successful with clubs such as SOFLRXCLUB,the newly created DSR (Down South Rotary) and even Towers Plaza Friday meets.
What concerns me though is a huge lack of RX-8 members. At the most, there are 0-2 RX-8s per meet including me. I understand the car hasn't been around for as long as say the 3 generations of 7s but come on people.
I know you're out there, which is why I started posting updates to rotary events. If you're interested in meeting up with people that share the same interests and possibly the same car as you show up to these meets!
Last friday we had a HUGE turn out at Towers in Broward. A total of 20 rotary cars if not more. Total RX-8s = 3 (including me), 2 which were late but better than never.
Last night, DSR had a BLAST at Hooters were we had chicken and beer followed by a caravan to a local shop for more beer. These are good times to be had, total RX-8s= 2 (including me).
So moral of the story is:
* There is good clean fun to be had.
* We lack a major RX-8 presence in South Florida.
* If you're interested in meeting up with more RX-8 and 7 owners, keep your eyes posted for meets and show up.

I agree; there should be a much larger presence at the Tower meet. What are you doing to get the word out? I hype up our local group every chance I get; last week I got out of the car at a busy intersection to hand someone one of our club cards.

I'd probably be willing to show up to meets if there wasn't so much drama attached to them all. After seeing all the flame wars going on between some of the members in the "Florida" forum... it just doesn't draw any attraction for me to go to a meet.

How many people are or around West Palm. Ive thought of maybe getting a meet together localy, what do you guys think, I see atleast 3 a day around here and we get quite a few in our shop, I could get a couple of them together. What are your thoughts.

hey moon if you schedule it for a weekend I wouldnt mind taking the trip to west palm, would be fun, but I also don'twanna take the trip and find no one there cause I live in kendall

moon why don't you do a meet/ dyno day /workshop or something @ pettit. that would get people out. a live dyno of the SC would kick a fair bit of *** too. prbably worht it for advertising in itself.
