I'm in Ft. Lauderdale/Sunrise area but more than willing to go up to West Palm.
I've actually been out of the seen for a while now do to unemployment but I am back in the game finally. Not this weekend but next weekend I plan to start going to the Rx8 meets.
I also hang out with the Intense Mazda Performance Club guys every now and then. Anyways, I would love to see that Super Charger so get something planned and I will try and make it out there.

We know a couple of Rx-8's that would make them wet themselves.

I see about 2-3 differant Rx8's everday on the way to work and back and I'm in miami.
They all look totaly stock and the drivers dont look like the type that would fit in with a RX8 club setting. I did see some hott chicks driving in a silver Rx8 though!
None of the Rx8's I've ever seen around here have even botherd to look over at me while I'm driving right next to them. That speaks for it's self I guess.

I live in broward and i think we have the same situation where there is always some old fart or hot chick that thinks she is the **** but cant drive behind the wheel..both i must add are not the rx8club type..you look and smile and get a stupid look for a response...I saw a red rx8 on pine island and peters road a few days ago and there was a silver 350z next to him I thought it was going to be a good lil show of sportsmanship but nothing happened and it was apprant that the 350z wanted to test him so I drove up and accepted his challenge since my fellow rx8 owner was to much of a puss to do it....I pulled on the 350 at the next light...I guess he wasnt that good of a driver..

and as for the RX-8 being slow, I didnt buy it for straight speed, I have my other car for that. And also for that un educated crowd, I ran into the new manager (i'm guessing) at potamkin mazda which is close to my office right on bird cause he saw I just bought the car and we were talking about the car and he said to me "glad to see someone actually know about the car and studied it before buying it" He also asked why I didnt buy my 8 at potamkin and instead at lehman mazda and I told him, potamkin was treating me very poorly and giving me the run around so many times I said forget it I'll go to where the car is instead of you guys waiting to bring it to me.

And yeh, mine's red. I've seen a silver & a blue one around here, recently. But that was it.

I went to Potamkin when I was shopping for mine last month and I must say that dealership is depressing! There were like 3 salesguys and one manager, (nice guys) but the place just looks run down and slow! My salesguy told me that it would be cheap to insure since the 8 is a 4 cylinder! Yikes!
Anyways, I live in the Brickell area and would like to meet up with some other Rx8 owners just to shoot it around. Mine is a 06 silver AT with no mods other than appearance package and spoiler. I'm not looking to win any races, just really love the car.

I keep seeing a black Rx-8 on the Sawgrass Expway with no spoiler. Very nice looking in black! That was my first choice but it wasn't available so I got the Titanium and I would never go back even though black is awsome!

In that time I've been successful with clubs such as SOFLRXCLUB,the newly created DSR (Down South Rotary) and even Towers Plaza Friday meets.
What concerns me though is a huge lack of RX-8 members. At the most, there are 0-2 RX-8s per meet including me. I understand the car hasn't been around for as long as say the 3 generations of 7s but come on people.
I know you're out there, which is why I started posting updates to rotary events. If you're interested in meeting up with people that share the same interests and possibly the same car as you show up to these meets!
Last friday we had a HUGE turn out at Towers in Broward. A total of 20 rotary cars if not more. Total RX-8s = 3 (including me), 2 which were late but better than never.
Last night, DSR had a BLAST at Hooters were we had chicken and beer followed by a caravan to a local shop for more beer. These are good times to be had, total RX-8s= 2 (including me).
So moral of the story is:
* There is good clean fun to be had.
* We lack a major RX-8 presence in South Florida.
* If you're interested in meeting up with more RX-8 and 7 owners, keep your eyes posted for meets and show up.

Keep the movement alive. Were spreading over here in tristate area, we have New Jersey Rotary Association (NJRA) and for 2007 we will have Connecticut Rotary Association (CTRA).

you cant compare the 8's to us 7's when it comes to meets, you gotta admit most of the rx8 owners really dont understand what they are driving. Obviously yall are the exception. to most owners its just another car to get from point a to point b and dont understand the whole rotary thing nor take pride in it. 7's on the other hand are the opposit. 95% of the 7 owners understand exactly what they are drive and take pride in it. Gotta remmber there was along gap in the US for rotary cars. 96-01? without any sort of rotary even produced here. So some of the 7 meets came out necesity to get parts and stuff. Hang in there yalls time will come.

In fact I have to admit that this is my first rotary car ever! However, I love engines and this engine hooked me! Not to mention I like being different.

Umm next meet should be a DSR meet, Hooters 11-20 @ Town & Country Mall. Sofla is having a meet, Boomers 12-2 @ I-95 & Stirling.
