I'm still recovering, but maybe I will have some time at least to check our your car paradigm. Post when you are meeting and I will see if I can meet you there.

Lol. It almost sounds like you're choosing cars over your girlfriend. So your priorities are 1)sailing 2)car 3)girlfriend.....does she know this?
:p
As far as a place to run it'll depend partly on when we meet. Daytime on 441 west of lake worth rd is decient. 3 lanes wide, little traffic. Drive one way to look for po-po, then do a u-turn and run back the other way. At night it's pretty dark, and the police LOVE to hide there in the shadows with their lights off. If it's dark out I know of more than a few good deserted roads to play on.
Saturday it is. Any time is good for me. Is anyone else interested in meeting up and perhaps doing something saturday evening (besides watching me smoke English
)?

I win.......:D
we went from a 1st gear roll @ 20mph.
1st run was no contest. Easy 2 1/2 cars before we let off in 3rd gear. Saw him in both mirrors.
2nd run was MUCH closer, however I believe this was due to lots of heat soak with the open element K&N intake I have.
You're next, Genom

I actually ran into those guys as I went to dinner with my family last night. At least I was driving my 8.
Paradigm, the exhaust sounds awesome.
English, maybe we can run the stock version of this race soon. I had too many people in my car last night!

Question.....what's with all the black brake dust settling on the rims - I bust my back cleaning the rims on Friday and by Saturday the front rims are loaded with black grime again....not so much in the back. I'm an ole lady - hard to keep them clean but hate the way they look .... anyone else having this issue?

okay -another question - see I knew you guys missed me - lol. If I'm planning on taking the car to WPB Mazda next week for an oil change and a look see - what should I ask them to do about the recalls? I looked at all of them - which ones would apply to me - I'm not sure what the "L" flash thing is all about. I can figure out the airbag thing. I want to walk in acting like I actually know what I want and what I'm talking about so they don't give me the "we can tell her anything"deal. Any suggestions? Thanks, guys (and girls if there are any more of us out there) - as always.

I bought from city place Mazda and they seem to be pretty cool. For recall issues, simply ask them to check your VIN number to see if you qualify for the two issues out there, the dynamic damper which is a sheild on the tranny, and the air bag harness. as for the L flash, I will be asking about it as well at 7500. That simply changes the engine performance parameters and mixture ratio. If you mention that maybe your car has had rough idle at times, and you have heard via this forum that it has been addressed with this flash of the PCM, then you should get it. As for brake dust................yeah it sucks. Clean early and often is the best way. Here is how that question was answered for me:
knowing this I have gone easier on the brakes trying to coast down and then down and just wind the rpm's down, not engine braking, just kinda coasting.

Just simple law of physics, there is a weight transfer to the front whenever you apply the brake. The harder you step on the brake, the more is the weight transfer taking place.
On a side note, I've remembered Mario Andretti saying that if someone told him that the use of the brake is solely for stopping the car, then whoever said that can't be a good racer. Obviously, a good racer should know the intricacies of using the brake to balance the car as well as effecting a weight transfer to help him to gain that hundres of a second advantage over his competitors.
