I'm in Miami. If you like meets check out the "DOWN SOUTH ROTARY" threads (aka DSR) or also check out www.flrx8club.net we are starting to get a small group of us "sofla's" on there too.

I'm in Cooper City. My car is freakin dirty. How do you deal with these water restrictions? Only a couple hour window a week for car washing? Sucks.

Where in Miami are you? Its a big city

Im a member of DSR, we meet every other week at county line drag strip. There used to be meets every monday at Fuddruckers on 104 and us1, but the police started shaking them down too much so no one goes anymore.

Im in the kendall/FIU area. Ill be going to the drag strip on friday. Lemme know if youre interested!

Yeah broward has it a little worse than Dade.. but man i hadn't washed my car for like 3 weeks. I finally washed it last week Thurs, because of work i had these stains from the leaves of the tree (no i don't park under one it was just blown onto my car cause of the rains).. i literally broke a nail (i know sounds girly!) scrubbing my car to get the stains off.

With all these rains and me leaving on vacation it'll probably be another 3 weeks before it's washed again....

Dang are you THAT new here? LOL.... South Florida's under heavy water restrictions. No watering or washing cars except for 2x's a week.

The South Florida Water Management District issued Phase II Water Restrictions that began April 13, 2007.

Residents with ODD numbered addresses will be restricted to watering on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 4 am to 8 am. Hand watering with one hose and an automatic shut-off nozzle is allowed from 5 pm to 7 pm

Residents with EVEN numbered addresses can water their lawns on Thursdays and Sundays from 4 am to 8 am. Hand watering with one hose and an automatic shut-off nozzle is allowed from 5 pm to 7 pm
They also suggest that you wash your car ON your lawn, and if they catch you violating the restrictions it's a $75 ticket on your first offense and it keeps doubling each offense after.

If you go somewhere to get your cars washed then you don't have to worry about it. It only pertains to washing your car at HOME.

I wash my car at the "Busy Bee Car Wash" off of 84th Ave and Bird Rd. For $3 your car comes out very clean and for $5 the machine will leave your rims spotless!
The wash also will not hurt your car's paint. The best part is, that if it does happen to rain or get dirty, you're only out $3 bucks instead of $10 or $12 like other washes.

My car is black... the wind blows and it's dirty. The rain has been helping to keep it clean though.

Thankfully my car is Silver and it hides dirt well. If I clean my rims alone, my car looks like it just came out of a wash.

Dark colors are the worst....I feel for you Trekk. While black is a nice color, it definitely shows dirt.

Just moved here about 6 months ago, so Im still trying to figure this place out. I had to buy a spanish dictionary to survive here, too bad cubans make up a lot of words that cant be found lol.

Krash like I said I live in Kendall as well, and Im always down to meet fellow enthusiasts. I also like meeting people from out of town, cuz most local Miamians are complete ******** (with a few exceptions like myself).

DSR (Down South Rotary) Car Club, which Im a member of, is having an all RE-BBQ on Key Biscayne, next saturday July 7th.

DSR is a good group of people, all very friendly, knowlegable, and hard core rotary enthusiasts.

You really should try to make it out. If you're looking to meet new gearhead friends, this is the place.

I saw this nice SS 8 today pretty much all mod'd. Close to Town & Country, we both made contact, seemed to be 30-40 years old I guess.. Haha, looked serious too.. For some reason.

As for the meets, I agree, I'm an ******* for not going to any of them yet..

^ That must have been Alex Cisneros... Town and Country is his and my stomping grounds, and he has a modded SS with bronze rims.
