Drove over to purchase my ticket this afternoon. Putted around the infield and when I got to the skid pad... my heart started beating real fast and I almost went for it but I saw two RA guys sitting in a golf kart watching it very closely. That was my cue to stand down. TA took his daughter over today and drove the touring laps... I will be out there tomorrow. Any track time is happy time. Look forward to seeing you guys and maybe driving a mini around the autox track.

Hey Silver. I'm a little late to this thread, but my wife and I will be there tomorrow. I'll be parking in the infield with the Miatas probably. I'll have my RX-8 there because I couldn't get my Miata repaired in time. Look for me and I'll keep my eye out for you.
By the way - no Minis this year. They are having MX-5's instead.

My daughter and I had such a great time yesterday, she is joining me again today. She is looking forward to riding with me in an MX-5 on the autocross course. I don't think I'll drive the touring laps. Maybe OMS will let us ride with him????

Great day at the track today. Saw some good friends, drove Miatas on the AutoX course and tooled around looking at some neat old cars. Did you know they cram Honda VTech engines in the original Mini? How the hell would you keep that on the road?
Tried to do track touring with TrackAddict and daughter but they were sold out of tickets so I bought a ticket for Sunday and we will do it tomorrow. TA Jr'ette told me she is looking forward to driving on Road Atlanta.
Flagged down a Nordic Green 8 and gave the guy driving my card and told him to log onto the RX & GA RX 8 clubs, he said "do you drive an 8" and I said yes. He said, I have something you need to look at and he revved his engine which took on a unmistakable whine that made me almost have an organism. He got out of the car and opened the hood and exposed a supercharged RX-8 with "Pettit" on it. Then started talking about his new developments. At which time KurtBob, 2Many _RX’s and I realized we were talking to the owner of Pettit Racing, Cameron Worth. 2Many took pics and Kurt and I asked a barrage of questions. Then Cameron asked if I wanted to take a ride! eh.... YEA! OH MY GOD! He drove out to the highway and we went down the road about 3 miles and onto a back road before turning around and heading back. That car had some serious torque. You know, that thing we don't have! He shifted much quicker than I would have expected. Usually around 5-7K. Cost is right at $5K. I asked if he had Dyno charts and he went to his trunk and pulled Dynojet results out. I will post them when 2Many gets me the photos. This was just toooooooo cool! He wants all the RX's to go out together tomorrow for track touring.
Shot a few movies with my little point and shoot digital camera. I'll post them later this evening. My wife took my real camera with her so I had to settle for the little guy.

It's been great to meet all of you!
We'll be there in the morning for a while before we head back to Ohio.

Here are a few of 2Many's photos of the SuperCharged Pettit car.
Engine Bay
Relocation of coils with holes drilled underneath for air to circulate to keep them cooler.
Dyno: HP notice his numbers are at 7000 RPM
Dyno: Torque

Momentum Keeps Me Going
How lucky can you get - meeting up with him there! ...not to mention the ride
Checking out one pic - It looks like the OEM strut bar is slightly bent around the SC plenum - did you notice that and then there is that attachment to the passenger side of the strut bar? ...plus that little canister over there?

well my daughter sure owes me a lot now dammit! well-- come to think of it --she already does--and when i hit the nursing home she had better fess up(and she will. Sure wish I had not missed this good time---but more will come.
Wonder why the petit car didnt have more rpm's? Maybe he does --just doesnt need to use them. Wonder if the upper bands are harder to tune? Wonder what pressure he is using? Temps he is running? etc-etc wonder a hell of a lot.
My daughters new $14468 Mazda I touring, auto, abs, all power is sure nice. Couldnt turn it down for that price--plus her s-40 was starting to blow turbo smoke(147K)---cost a lot to try and keep your daughters safe.
Oh well --out to the shed to blow rotor sounds through my viking horn midpipe.
