Moving to Atlanta!!!
Hey Yall
I'm planning on biting the bullet this coming October. Any pros and cons I should know about? And what are some hot spots for a 27 year old?
Hope to be part of the club too. If you'll have a Canadian

I'm sure it's not like that all the time. But of all the places I've lived and worked in my life, Atlanta ranks in the top three in terms of traffic IMO. L.A. of course being the worst. Maybe someone who's lived there longer can chime in here.

It can be pretty bad here. Because there are few alternate routes, major roadways get slammed. Also, when accidents happen on any of these roadways parking lots happen.
Dont let that worry you though. You pretty much learn when/where not to drive fairly quickly.
Welcome to Atlanta, eh?

Oh well, Toronto has its share of traffic....especially when snow is falling. I'm really excited to move there and make some U.S. dollars. I hate the tax system in canada. It's so hard to get ahead when the cost of living is so high. I'm hoping that once the troops finally get back from Iraq, the U.S. economy will explode. I definately want to be there when this happens. All this uncertainty has left a dark cloud on the U.S. currency. Anyways, I am pumped and hope Atlanta will be as good as I hope.
So how's the nightlife? I heard buckhead is where it's at....any other hot spots to check out?

Depends on what you are into. buckhead is a start then head down to Crescent Ave or the Highlands. The restaurants are pretty amazing, the club scene was a blast when I was your age (43 now) but I still get out and it's still a great time. I would be forwarned that there is 0 tolerance for drinking and driving so plan on taking a cab or staying downtown at one of the cool hotels. Look us up when you hit town.

^^^^cool sounds good. Are you the owner of mazcare? I was in Atlanta last summer and had my tranny/diff fluids changed there and bought the rb screen set. I never got to talk to the owner in person but if you are the guy I talked to over the phone, thanks for the hook up. And your car is sweet too. If I have mistaken.....sorry.

that would be Chas. He owns MAZCARE, and has a direct line to all of our bank accounts.
Welcome to the south, it will be a LOT different than Canada I am sure. And of course you are welcome to join up with us. We try to do a lot, and are trying to plan more non-track related outings and events, for those that like that sort of thing, not sure why, is there anything better than track.... Let us know when you get here, we should all try to grab a few cold drinks.

You don't need to twist my Canadian arm when it comes to beer. I really want to get into track racing but I don't know how to race. I think that I can learn pretty quick tho. I'll be the cheerleader.
So what's the best thing about living down south?(weather excluded)

We look forward to you arriving in the south in October DARKMAZ8 and joining the club.
EDIT:
There or others that attend to just enjoy the fellowship. I started off by being the club photographer and now I finally after about 2 years had my first track day and I'm hooked now. Driving is not required to have fun with our group. We do other things as well like for April we have a Bar-B-Q in the works.
