Is Kurtbob still coming? If OD's still coming, he may be bringing his wife as well. 8 puts us at sharing one of the three bigger beds. If STF chooses not to stay with us, MoodDude is welcome. It doesn't matter to me. If someone else besides me doesn't mind sharing their bed, we could do 9.....if two want to share, we could do 10. It really doesn't matter to me folks, I'm easy.......hell, we'll only be in there to sleep anyway.....

STF, if you don't mind, I'd love for you to take the RX-7 on track and see what I need to work on, besides power that is. It is nowhere near modern cars in power, but it is light and very tossable which makes it fun. I'll bring it with Hoosier Road Race tires on and hope to get a session or a couple laps with it.

You guys would be more than welcome to come! (even if you drive an 8)

Damn, I may have to now fork over another 3 large to drive. Or, I could bring the car, work, and drive it during the touring laps.... hmmmmm, hard decision..... Dedicated Track Car at Road Atlanta or Touring Laps..... damn, decisions, decisions....

That is a very good analogy. I have thought of that myself. I'm going to have the car there, with hoosiers on, and then putter around for touring laps. WTF am I thinking?!??!?!! My only reservation is that it is an old car with no cage in it. It is a great autocross car and fun as hell.... should Road Atlanta be the inaugural track for it??? It definitely isn't a power car, it's a handling car, so during the back straight, I'm going to keep my arm out the window pointing people by. But I don't think I'll have to slow down much for Turn 1.
I'm going to have to ask the boss for permission again....

It is a reliable daily driver though and did good at the last autocross. If I get the gauges installed in order to monitor water and oil temp, I'll sign up for the HPDE.

Guys, here comes the bomb shell.
The Evo will be leaving the house next week. I don't want it to go, but due to unforseen circumstances (with the law), I have to let it go. I am replacing it with either an M3, or an RS4 (or S4), depending on what my wife settles on, and how the results of something turn out.
I want to keep the Evo, but it is at a point where it needs to either be a track car, or converted back to stock. I can't decide, so I am going to bite the bullet and pick up an older mustang *early 90's* from my cousin, and build a RACE car. It will keep me out of trouble on the street, and allow me to be safer at the track. Not to mention I can run American Iron if I want, which I do.
So, should you guys know anyone looking for a track ready Evo cheap, please let me know.

I'm sorry to hear that the beast will be leaving us. I'll talk to WRX Boy and see if he's interested in it. He was planning on getting rid of his WRX for something else. I hope things are going well and the Mustang turns out great.

Ok, so now I have a 91 Mustang with a full cage, rolling chassis. No motor, no tires, but it was built for drag, so I have to change the suspension and cage some. Also, I have decided to go with a single (small) turbo on a 302, or 4.6 with hardened internals. I have Wilwood brakes from a cup car and a 9in rear also from a cup car.
Now, the great thing is this is a race car, the bad thing is, it isn't a sleeper like the evo was. I mean guys, in my mind, the Evo was the underdog at every track it went too. Now, when I show up with a turbo'd V8 race car, people are going to expect it to be fast. Preliminary times on the car would be 1:43's at CMP, 1:33s at Road Atlanta, and 1:13's at Roebling. Now, the hard part is the suspension. I am going to convert the fox to fully independent rear, which will allow me to use coil-overs all the way around. Also, I am going with full sways, 305s front and 315s rear.
I know this is no Evo, but what do you think.....
