It maybe I'll try to check tonight. They gave us a copy of them that past weekend.

Actually now that I think about it, I think that is the only time I've ever ran and had to wear long sleeves was at the NASA event last year. hmmm....

This is what the 2008 rules and regulations say:

"Long sleeved shirts and long pants of a natural fiber are to be worn"

But I've been there many many times and last year was the only event I've ever had to wear long sleeves. So it doesn't seem like they enforce it, but NASA must have.

Honestly, I don't remember. I am sure TA or someone will know.
I just remember when I started thinking about Barber, something in my head lit off and said "don't forget long sleeves".

But then again, I am old and saw too many Grateful Dead shows, so my memory can't be trusted....

Ooooo - Swoope is like 10 posts away from 10,000
You will have to do us the honor of posting it here in the SE track ho section!

And yeah, Nasa has become pretty easy on the shirts for DE. The groups have pretty much been saying "do whatever you want, just sign the waiver".
Doesn't matter, I will still bring a couple long sleeve cause tracks can have their own rules, and I dont need to be finding a walmart in bofunk, alabama sat morn...

If you didn't catch it on the Nasa Forums - Jim P (SE- head honcho) said short sleeves are fine. I always carry one long sleeve just in case, but glad to hear it from him.

- Paper goods purchased
- Track wheels/tires washed and tire buggers cleaned off from RR
- Front HP+ pads on this evening

Nothing left to do but take the back seats out, load up and head to BMP Friday!

Oil changed, brakes pads checked and I'm finally starting to feel like a track weekend is coming up.

It's getting close!

Lego, holler at me. Wanted to see if you have the EZ-up from RR and can bring it.

Don't know if anyone still premixes for track/daily - but I have 6+ bottles of Idemitsu. The miata doesn't like it for track
and I don't need it for the 8 (warranty!). If someone is interested in a bottle or two for track use, let me know. If not, I will probably put a 6 pack up for local sale.

I'll buy some from you. Talked to Denny last night and he runs 1oz per gal. I have some but if I run that much, it will not last long. L8 has some too. bring me a couple bottles please.

I would join you for the drive up but I still have one more Item left on the to do list:

1) Install new Urethane bushings for front sway bar -- Done
2) Lube all greasable bushings - Done
3) Buy new street and Track tires (Toyo R888's for Track duty) -- Done
4) Get the car aligned with more camber / open the toe - Done
5) Check / Bleed brakes / Replace rear caliper brackets & lube sliders (Y'all KNEW there had to be some kind of brake work involved - Done
6) Purchase Beef Jerky -- Done
7) Charge Transponder - Done
8) Wash / pack the car - Done
9) Get an extra helping of Special Mustang Magic Sauce ? -- To do

I should be able to make it out there in the 7-8 PM timeframe.

See Y'all at the track

Weekend Recap

Another fun track weekend spent at the nicest facility in the SE with some of my best friends. Thanks to all for coming out and sorry that a few of you couldn't make it. Next time I hope.
Phlash - the accommodations were excellent as you were the host with the most. Thanks for bringing the RV and putting some of us up. It was great fun staying in the paddock all weekend. Track during the day and beer/brats/cigars at night. Awesome. the Cooper had a blast too. Thanks for letting me ride with you. You swooped through the corners in that little go cart. Lil Phlash was a trooper and hung out with us all weekend. I hope he had a good time. He will sleep well for a few days!
L8APEX - a very finer performance on track. When I rode with you, you were excellent and I had little to offer you. I had a great time getting out on track with you and Silver and pacing you. In the last session we drove, when TA2 and I played around for some good photo ops, you drove away from us. I had a hard time reeling you in. Thankfully you backed off a bit so I could close up.
Silver - I was delighted to ride with you on the first session. You too had a good grasp of the track. When I drove behind you later, your lines were great and you were moving fast. In most parts of the track I could just hang on. The main differences between me and you and L8 were that I went into 1 harder, carried a bit more through the kink, and then just stretched the limits in 12 - 14.
Lego - Too bad on the blown tire early on Saturday but it was great that the street tires had no rub issues. You would have taken 1st place in class both days had you just gone out to turn a few laps.
Dano - sucks that the rules change caught you out but I think you made the right decision. If you would have put harnesses in, I would have used the factory 3 point along with the harnesses because the shoulder belts would not have been properly positioned. It was good that you hung out Friday night and part of Saturday. I was glad that I could take you out for a session so you got some track.
TA2 - congrats on a 1st place in TTC. Well deserved and you were certainly due. When I tried to hang with you, you were able to drive away in the straights with your new extra power. In the turns I could gain in only a few places but for the most part you kept the gap.
Russ - you were a great HPDE2 student. Once you learned the track, you drove it with precision. Work on braking next time (compress braking, maintain braking while heel/toe down shifting).
Don/Donna/Suzie - It's always great to see y'all at the track and paddock together. Don - you are getting faster and faster every time I see you. It is Suzie's turn to do some DEs now.
KurtBob - first thanks for helping me secure the in car communicator from John. that made my weekend easier. It was great to hangout over the weekend and get a bitg of a teasing by you (well deserved of course). My recent results have done wonders for making my helmet fit better.
SPICcnmGT - congrats on a podium in TTA in your 3rd gen. You had fast company so 3rd place was excellent. Great to see you again!!!
I had a rough TT weekend with lap times a full 4 seconds off my last Barber visit. I was disappointed in that but I drove to the best of my abilities. I pushed as hard as I dared and sometimes a bit harder than that. It just wasn't there. I don't know if I am experiencing the reduced grip of many many heat cycles of used Hoosiers, a weaker motor, or the change in gearing due to the 17" wheels. I had the most fun driving in HPDE3/4 with my friends this weekend. Thanks for everything guys and see you on the track again.

First time watching the NASA events at Barbers. I've been to the AMA races and the Porsche250 race, but this was the first NASA race. My brother and I spectated from turn11 and I took a bunch of pics. I will post them up here if you guys want to see.

I didn't see you guys around in the paddock Sunday morning. Nonetheless ... I wasn't much in the mood for conversation, as it was sooooo hot & humid.

BTW, I drove the Mazdaspeed3 to Barber MSP all of the 3 days. If you guys are doing anything for the Porsche250 race this year, I'd like to join you guys.
