You are quite the modder olddrifter! My car remains essentially unchanged since last time out. I do plan on going to ATE Blue Dot 4 fluid this weekend and may go back to my alignment guy and have him tweak my settings.

Man I wish I could make it out there.

Just finnished up at Calfornia Speedway for the S3ki Event (Honda 2000 owners).

There were 3 WRX's, 1 Focus, and 1 Civic too.

For lap times:

1st 1:33
2nd 1:29
3rd 1:28
1st Not posted yet

Each session was 9 laps.

You guys gonna need that HP if your up against those big boys (EVO, WRX, S2000, SR/T)

The straightaways look real long when those cars walk away from you.

Man oh man...from looking at the NASA forums, it looks like the Vets and the RX's will once again be the largest groups.......SWEET!!!! One day we'll show up in bigger numbers than the Vets.

Hey All, I just got my new Rotora cross-drilled and slotted rotors and I now wait for my Project Mu Titan brake pads. My factory stuff is pretty worn out and with this R/A weekend coming I figured now is a good time to do the swap.

Did somebody say enough h.p. to keep up with the Evo's, WRX's, S2k's, and SRT's? I relish the challenge. It's amazing how much h.p. you DON'T need when you can dive just a little further into the turn before braking.

I also just got the "N" flash and I can already feel a difference from the "M". I immediately noticed a different anti-stall map, and I think I am detecting a little different ignition curve from idle up to 2k, maybe the leading/trailing flip is modified, I dunno. It'll be a couple days for the new flash to accomodate the mods I have. That always happens when I do a re-flash or battery disconnect.

See y'all in approximately 171 hours.

CRH

OD, you never responded to my latest p.m.

So glad to hear that......

I spoke with Charlie about "N" this week. He got it, and highly recommends it. Next Thursday I go for a oil change, tire rotation, the battery TSB, and the "N" TSB. I can't wait to see if the rumors I have been reading about on this forum are true. I will get the brake pad TSB done a little after the RA event.

Maybe "rumors" is the incorrect word. Perhaps "different opinions" is a better choice of wording. If you look around at the posts in the tech section and some in discussion, lounge, etc., you see some folks stating that they gained something from the flash upgrade, some didn't, some saying there is no difference in the last "M" and the current "N".

Interesting blurbs from the Mazda 6 forums....

I don't think they paid attention to the autos that were "killing" us in the straights. Last time I checked a Mazda 6 would have an issue with a 430+ hp 911t as well.

Did they not watch what happened once the turns came back around? geez.....

This time next week we'll be playing back in our minds the opportunities for our 3rd session of day. Damn it is so close I can taste it!
I changed my brake fluid yesterday and put in ATE Super Blue Racing. It has a 536 degree dry boiling point and a 392 degree wet boiling point. The stuff looks wicked cool too as it is a rich blue color. OK, I know you have to look at the master cylinder to see my brake fluid but it looked cool going in and bleeding out the calipers. I am going to find time to get my alignement tweaked too. I am going to a little more front negative camber, even out the front caster, and zero out the rear toe.

As for the Mazda 6 guys, all I can say is they should come out to a track day and have fun with us. I am not in a pissing match with anyone. I do this because I like to do it, not to say I have a faster or slower car. I got no problems with SRT4 Neons either. Just come out, have fun, learn to drive, and be safe.

One personal rule I have regarding the stoplight-to-stoplight "comparisons" is that I refuse to race another RX-8(unless he absolutely insists by acting a fool) but I have no problem with other cars. There is a general feeling of brotherhood for me, anyway, with anyone who has the nerve to buy a new car and immediately start modding it so even if I lose I don't take it personal. Anyone can buy an old car, like a Chevy, and put the requisite parts on it but you gotta have some brass ones to be the first to buy a new model and put fresh aftermarket parts on it.

Guys,
less than a week.
Tempted on the n flash, charlie says he may be able to tell a little differance but my cz 2 was tuned to the m and I donna wanna mess with things this close to the time.
Ray, had to reinstall operating system in my home systems damn A.I.M. virus. that was a pain in the old you know what. Ill call ya Monday or tuesday OK? Got those dang cheese graters huh? Should look sweet.
Had my tires changed yesterday meet up with some guys that used to race with my father a looonngggg time ago. His sons (who now run the place) had a ls 1 mounted into a 80's model Z car believe it was a 280z --sweet. just shows ya old rodders never die.
Got a high speed recognition award from the local sheriff Friday. Yep I admit it. I was doing 44mpg in a 35 mph zone. I think he was a little overzelous. 1st ticket in 20 yrs. Pissed me off so I went and bought a new pair of tennis shoes.
Like Nabil says we are just having fun. But-------! I wish I had the time to do a camera mount in my car.
later guys
gotta go i'm tires just got through with a soccer tourtnement of my daughters!

Nabil, I'm still a maybe! Sorry I can't give you a definite. I bought my new video camera today and I received ChaseCam earlier in the week. Sure would like to try it out. If I can get my work done in the AM I will join you at MacD's at 10:30. Looks like "wht05rx8" plans to be there. I have your cell phone and will call you around 9:30 AM to let you know for sure.
