too late for the camera thing for me. i don't even know if the batteries in mine would still be any good. As Charles says COUNTDOWN! Everyone remember to bring warm clothes! Mornings look like they may be a little chilly. Ray the cold in the south is differant than the cold in Detroit, when it is 30--40 here it's cold, plus there is usually a little wind at the track.
name for club how about "Three Moving Parts" or TMP club? (basically 3 moving parts in a rotory engine.) gotta go to work see yall tomorrow!

So much stress... Lot's of work to get done at the office. Must wash car. Bloody rain...
I think I know what will help. Maybe a Road Atlanta track day will take the edge off.
Y'all this is going to be great. This is our best event to date. I wonder if we can pull it off again? Atlanta Motor Speedway perhaps? Maybe Roebling Road? Maybe CMP? Regardless, between our get together at Mazcare tomorrow or time together in teh paddocks, this is gonna rock! Can't wait!!!

The Turkish Delight
Man I'm excited! The rain is getting me a little upset, but thinking of turn going through those esses does nothing but put a smile back on my face. We will have a heck of a time. I'm going to need an oil change at Mazcare Friday evening though.

Hey guys, I just caught this thread. I live about 20 minutes from Road ATL and although I see I am too late to sign up for the HPDE1 class, I'll be stopping by with my digital camera to shoot some pics of the cars & drivers. Just wanted to let you know there'll be another source for pics of the event. Will post for your veiwing pleasure of course.
BTW - Did anyone remember to schedule some import models? :D

WOW !
Day 1 is in the books. What a great course, but what is making this a stellar event is the people. And what I mean by that is the fellow RX-8 owners. Helluva great group, and am having a blast being with these fellow owners.
RX-8 owners, our cars ROCK. This course has thrown a lot at them. Praise to the Engineering team who developed the RX-8.
A special thanks to Charlie & the entire bunch at Mazcare for the shindig they threw Friday night -- and for taking care of me in my time of greatest need. More on that later next week.
And BTW, if you have not went with a lightweight flywheel yet, just make plans to get it done. There is no good reason not to get this upgrade. Special thanks to Charles Hill for helping me with my install yesterday. Totally transforms your car.
Got to go & get some good rest for tomorrow's track time (bet I dream about apexes all night).

bastards I was hoping for some day 1 feedback. I just got done telling the wife how much I missed not being able to get up there and get the 7 on the track. How was Troy doing in his 7? I want to make sure and get the video when it's done, so Silver8, post when your done with it and thanks for doing the video for everyone.

Ok guys,
Everyone that checks this thread yall are in for a treat! Silvereight and his loyal sidekick are one jam up crew. videos/pictures VIDEO ON CHARLES HILL'S RUN WITH NOS! Flames shooting out of the exhaust during gear changes(without preloading) , putting in a light flywheel in the parking lot without power tools and finishing in the dark with car headlights as the only source of illumination! Good food, melted chunks of rubber on our cars, . Our group is getting way,way faster! NASA runs a 1st rate show. Now our group is talking about going to Detroit(where Charles Hill is from) for a Nasa event in August. Who the hell knows whats going to happen next! Bottom line is we have a great group that are capable of anything! Hey maybe next we can port a engine in the driveway with sandpaper! By the way my cold air intake is working so well I have bugs in my airbox(they dont get past the filter of course!)
Whew! Later dudes, Im relaxing now!

I made it safely back home to Alabama.
And before I even stepped into the house, I was changing my oil, and adjusted my clutch pedal (the flywheel install caused my pedal engagement to be off slightly).
Keep checking out this thread for more pics & video from the weekend, as well as further discussion on the fruits of our labors.
Awesome time -- thanks all.
