You can request to work a particular corner but if it's a particularly busy or potentially dangerous one, Don will most likely assign it to folks with experience.
So it looks like 11 might not be up for grabs but it never hurts to ask.. Keep in mind that the busy corners are just that: Busy! It doesn't look it but it's real work and you're baking in the sun all day.
For example, when there is a stranded car, the procedure you are supposed to follow is to run out to check it while carrying a kinda heavy fire extinguisher. If their are several stranded cars during the day, well you get the picture. (Happened to me while working turn 7 @ RA last year, the flippin' things kept dying out of the corner and some where several hundred yards up)
Just be careful what you ask for...
Make sure you bring at a minimum some ear plugs, a cooler for water (They usually provide lukewarm water) sunblock, and work gloves are not a bad idea in case things get messy.

Hey guys, don't stress of the T-storms. this track drys QUICK, provided it even gets totallly soaked. It takes a ton of rain to gget this track saturated, and even then, with the way the wind and sun hit it, it drys in about 30minutes. Trust me, this weekend will be my 8-9th day here.......provided the wifey lets me come out and play. I won't be instructing, just time trials.
Lego and TA, I will try to get you guys out on-track with me for a few sessions. I am trying to conserve my RA1s though, I am using them as street tires. NT01's are on order for track duty.

32V is going to be 'busy' for roughly the next nine months...... I doubt he will have much more time on his hands, with the work around the house that needs to be done.
However, his car is starting to show it's age, so he will be revamping the car at the same time. I am sure we will get some pics when the process starts.

You guys have a great time at CMP. Those of you that have not driven it I think you will find it to be a most enjoyable track. I wish I could be there with you but I guess RA will just have to do. Make turn 5,6 & 7 one steering input, stay on the throttle through the Kink , and brake HARD for 11.
I expect vids and photos!

I'll be arriving around 10pm tonight and would love to grab a brew if anyone's up for that. TA has my cell but it's 703-593-4273 if anyone wants to give me a call. I'm staying at the Executive, so I'll go there first to check in.
I'll be bringing a cooler (filled!) and a set of jack stands. I also have an extra folding chair- anyone need one? -Howard
PS- if we get a powered paddock spot, anyone have a box fan (to push around that 90 degree air?)

I broke down and called TA1.
Summary.....Lego was the man at this event, 2s per lap faster than TA1, roughly. However, TA1 was on Azenis, walking with the mortals for this event. TA2, was literally, setting the track on fire with his aggressive driving style.
Times were 2:03's for Lego, @2:05's for TA1, and 2:07s for TA2. Overall, good fun by all. Great job guys.

I've waited as long as I can. I'm sure you guys are going to be too tired to post so I guess I'll just have to sign off. Gotta get up real early in the AM and head out for vacation. Life's tuff but someone has to do it. I hope to check in occasionally but I will not be up to post ho'ng as usual.

Well, I'll post really quick. I'm in Augusta staying with a buddy of mine since I'd be driving half the night to get all the way home. The weekend was a blast! It is a hell of a track, and may be my favorite now. It's pretty technical and the turns are so much fun. 1-7 and 11-14 are a ball! We all had a heck of a time. And we saw one charming mother ****'n white E36! Yes, I'll be going to hell for that.
First off, here's a big thank you to the workers, Gordon and Travis. Without them, we wouldn't have a weekend. And, here's the grid out master hard at work...
How many knuckles it that Travis??? Just kidding. It was a great shot though.
TA, TA2, and DCNSX, it was another great track weekend. That NSX is a sharp *** car. TA2 and I played on track a good bit and it was fun going back and forth. He was on fire this weekend just burning up the track! TA, you looked wonderful out there. Smooth like Butter! Howard, it was great meeting you finally and that NSX. Sharp car my friend. Hope to see you again on a track or the next time I'm up that way in NC. Let me know when you're going to VIR next.
I've got a lot of pictures of everyone. Here's a few, I haven't cropped or done anything to any of these, so I'll doctor them up and repost the whole album soon.
Thanks TA for taking pictures of HPDE 2 folks!
