It is not going to rain. --------Because I said so!
Remember we live in Ga. No one has any idea what the hell the weather will ever do. It may be a little cloudy but no rain. Weather man said it would get in the high 30's in Macon last night--heck it was 44 degrees. But you have to remember I am a baby boomer that doesnt like to take his meds.
I dont want to have to change tires in the middle of the freaking day.
Besides all that cheese blue is bringing will get all moldy.
So how many will be at Charlies?
I had to get a room at Jamestown

I'm originally from South Dakota, but I use ya'll to fit in as well...good choice Blue on that one

For me in the 7, I've almost decided not to drive Sunday if it rains. 300 plus rwhp, no electronic gizmos to help with traction = stained pants time. I'll tough it out but sure as heck won't push the car, or myself, if it does. I might just get a foam finger from a hockey game and have it taped to my roof to give the point by to everyone on the track with me.

- Back seats out
- Video mount installed
- Car washed
- Nose mask installed
- Striped of all loose items
- Oil changed
- Track tires/wheels waiting impatiently
- Brake pads installed on friday
- I'm dying to put the numbers on but I'd draw serious flack from my "friends" (*** faces) at work.

I tested my camera mount out this evening and need some feedback. I need to know if the position is too high? I have it up because I want to see the speedo/tach. If I have it modified, I will lose that but I will gain the straight on vision. I do get visual from either side of the mirror when turning or climbing a hill. I need you'se guy's expert opinion. How will this translate to the RA track? It may take an act of congress to get it modified tomorrow but I will try if I need to.

What I do like:
- This puppy is solid as a rock
- View of the speedo/tach
- View directly in front of car

What I don't like:
- Rear view mirror is obnoxious

Video mount test (QT Download)

nah, around here we need a pink cat on crack, liven up the place a bit. Up until now, the only pink we had, was TA in his tank top.

silver, camera mount looks solid as a rock. and yeah, the rearview is in plain view. It is nice to see the speedo, but keep in mind, you had low light levels there, out on track, the gauges are in shadow from the instrument pod. A couple of places in my raw footage from august I can read the speedo, but not that often. I would say, use it this time, and see what needs to be changed based on real world on track use.

redeemed that post a bit. first useful one in a while, feels kinda icky...

Well, this just keeps getting worse, the Evo is DOA. It is fine, but I have chose not to spend 718 buck on tires I don't really want. I just can't justify it, especially when I have RA1's at another shop, just on back order.

What a sucky situation......oh well, I am sure I will get plenty of rides in RX's, R32's, and TTs. Not to mention Steves Cobra. BTW, there are new vids on Steve's site, www.opentrackers.com from CMP this past weekend. Can you say 2.00 flat? At CMP that is FAST, especially with his setup. I think he said he was the third fastest car there, and we all know his Cobra is stock, at least the Engine is....

I have had string cheese - is there a high end version or something? I am familiar with the Moo Town stuff that my kids used to have as a snack.
Now, sharp cheddar sounds better!

Won't the tire service at the track likely have some RA1s?

yeah, the rear view blocks out way to much road a majority of the time. Turns are okay since your looking right or left around the mirror in the video. Can it be lowered?

Thanks for your input L8 and Tim. My bracket is not adjustable. After reading you guys post and talking to TA, I think I will see if I can get the shop to cut about 4-6" out and weld it back together by Friday. Thanks guys.

Yes, I love string cheese. I'm addicted to it. It doesn't last very long in our house. I've always loved cheese though. I adore feta and provolone. I like the stinky stuff too!
