go in for my recall stuff Monday. NP on this end, may have a little vibration at idle(?motormount), but I do want that free tank of gas and the new flash. Get it settled before track time.

well God help me and my credit card-- i just registered HPDE 3. Now bring it on.

Question---does scoring of the brake disc mean that you have to replace it if you still have good thickness on the brake pads and really dont HAVE to replace them? I have about 1/3 left on the bobcats on the rear. The disc's are scored. Those pads have 4 track events and about 16000 miles on them. WHat are yall's thoughts.

yeah, after spending yesterday at the track, catching a couple of rides, and just being there, I am really ready to hit the track. It has been too long, and I need to get some track...

Welllll----took my car into the dealership today. They need to replace. They gave me a cx7 to drive and all that. It is a pretty decent SUV. It is NOT an 8 though. Oh yea to clarify I get to keep it until my car is ready. Whoopee. It is going to be hard to wait for it.
They will have to keep my car for at least 1 day. They had to order motormounts...

GOT YA!

You should drive the CX7 at Roebling! Put some abuse to the loaner car. To bad that NASA doesn't allow SUV's.

I am driving a Mazda6 at the moment, because my 8 is in for the recall. While it is a fun little car, it would need a TON of suspension mods to become track ready, it has a lot of pitch and roll, that after driving the 8, would be very unsettling on the track. I hope to have my 8 back tomorrow, I always appreciate it a little more after driving something else.

OD, when do you notice the difference. Did you ask them to do the new mounts or did they tell you when you took it in for a recall?

I asked them to check them(there is a tsb about them), i thought i was feeling a little more vibtration at idle sometimes(i didnt really know if it was rough running engine or the mounts) and I thought I noticed more shifter movement on hard lower gear (3nd and 4th) accleration. Sure enough both of them where blown. Over $1000 of parts/work--covered by warrety.
By the way car running better after new flash--idle just has to settle(just like after every flash i have had(thats all of them)
May want to check yours.

nope.

I have been diagnosed. I have track fever. A diagnosed medical condition, only treatable with high octane fuel, exhaust fumes, melted rubber, apexes and rumble strips. The sooner I get treatment, the better off we will all be.
