I am ready to go out and have a little track fun!
Phlash, L8 - I should be good to go anytime on Fri (as long as it isn't way early in the morning).
Great news on the new gear Silver.
I am a little bummed that I spent the last month hunting a miata or MT, and everything has not been a do-able deal. Am outta time for this event.
Oh, I am going - will just be manushifting again.

I will still have great time hanging with my friends and chasing down people, but I gotta get this worked out before another event!
*frustration - sigh*

i put the best tire on the dominant front side----ie:
if it is a r hand turn track then best tire on the left front.
The 2nd best on the other front.
The 3nd best on the dominant rear and then the worst on the non dominant rear side.

Thanks for that tid-bit OD. I'm sure it will come in handy later.

Guys, this is sneaking up real fast. It's gonna be here before you know it.

Looks like we may all be running on our street tires.

Sat: Scattered Thunderstorms, H 89º, L 70º
Sun: Scattered Thunderstorms, H 85º, L 69º

I think it's time to bring out the big guns!

that would be what I woudl have expected, so glad to get some confirmation on that.

OK, those going to CMP, let's try not to triple up on bringing things. We don't all need a jack, jack stands, and impact guns and all that. That will just make it take that much longer to upnack your gear when you get there, and even worse, that much added time re-packign your gear when we want to leave on Sunday. We are notriously last to leave the paddock on Sunday. Let's not do that again. It is a long haul back, and then Phlash has another 2 hours from here.

So, lets figure otu what we all shoudl bring. If igure we need two jacks at best, there are only 6 of us, 2 of which are staying on street tires that I know of.

L8APEX
-jack
-cordless drill and batteries
-2 jack stands
-the EZ-UP

Phlash
-impact gun

A big cooler for us to all put some water in.

OnRails

TA2

We might need two coolers, since it will no doubt be rather warm. So if anyone else has a cooler, and room to transport it, that would be good.

Just got an email from Julie. A tentative list of drivers.

DE1=24 drivers
DE2=32 drivers
DE3=20 drivers

DE2 looks like it will be fun, a coupel of Porsches, all of them older, the newest being a 1999 C2. All cars seem to be on a similar level, so it will be a lot of fun.

Schedule is not out yet, but $10 says DE2 is the last group on Sunday.

L8, I'm bringing my tools and jack because I just don't know how things will work out for my time wise and I gotta have what I need just in case. I still don't know what time I will be able to get out on Friday but I'm still. planning on the worst at 5:00 PM.

=========
email from Jim Pantas:

Howdy all,

groups day on the Friday before our event this weekend at CMP. Here's a
perfect chance to tweak your car, get some seat time and hone your skills
for the weekend. They put on an excellent event, very similar to our format
and you'll get plenty of seat time. Contact Sylvia at spatts64@yahoo.com or

That is a good idea OMS, I think we need to have two jacks, just in case one decides to crap out. TA had one like mine, and at some point, it broke. So, we don't want that to happen. I was just trying to prevent all of us, from bringing all of our crap, and then having to spend 90 minutes on Sunday night packing our ****. I am going to do my last session on street tires, to keep the pace down, and just to go over everything I learned over the weekend, but also to make it easy to pack, and not have to pack hot wheels.

L8, I can also bring a case of water and some gatorade so every one doesn't have to bring as much. I have an extra tarp as well - should I bring it?

And any thoughts on where we should meet on Fri?

I'm def bringing my big red cooler. I plan on putting a bunch of drinks in there for whoever wants / needs them. Is there something cooler to wear besides jeans?

OnRails, just to hang out and catch a ride this weekend, I wore shorts - and when track time came up I pulled on a thin pair of PJ pants. "cotton scrubs" I call them.
Saw some guys wearing shorts that velcro'ed on pants legs - but havent found them yet.
My PJ pants are travelling with me!

any chance we will have power where we paddock? I'll bring a fan!

I will be joining the caravan at 400 and 285. Phlash comes down 75 from the Boogie, and Dano, I am not exactly sure where you are. We could meet up at an exit on I-20 east, just outside 285, but I am not familiar with that area.

I am going to have a couple options for driving, I have a nice big pair of scrub pants, that are lightweight, and airy, but not too airy, that I am going to try out, I also have a pair of hiking pants, that have the zip off legs, that have worked well for me in the past, but they can be a PITA in a rush to get the legs back on. The scrubs would go right over a pair of shorts, so they may win out. Anything to make it easier, and less hot as hell.

I am hoping that they turn out to be the best option. The ones I have are about a dozen sizes too big for me, so they go over my regular clothes with no trouble. and might also be not-clingy, in the heat. I am sure it will be really hot in the car on grid. I wish I had a cool suit.

I'll just try to get started packing quicker this time...
