The car is ready for track! I got fresh oil and filter in this weekend, cleaned the RB air filter. cleaned the MAF, checked out the bolts under the car, and bled the brakes. She is raring to go!
When I took out the RB air filter, I noticed that the screen was ripped. Luckily I still had a screen in the OEM air box so putting a new one in was no problem. I also must have loosened the hose clamp that keeps the velocity stack in the throat of the air filter because it was not in there. Now all is well!

One more thing. I've got a BRAND NEW set of Hawk HP+ front pads for the 8. I bought the set after the last track day thinking I'd need them for the 8 soon, but now that I've gotten into the 7 so much, I don't really need to have them. Anyone interested? They haven't been touched at all. I'll sell them for whatever you can get them online and you won't have to pay shipping. I can bring them to CMP.

Julie has me on a reserve to work and I'll see how I'm doing when I get there. I don't want to be put in a situation where I can't preform my job properly, more for NASA than me, so I'd rather run around and take picks of my friends and grab as many rides as possible. If I feel I'm at 95% then I will tell Julie to use me. Guess I'll find out on Saturday morning.
Where are you guys staying Rob?

Would be nice to share it mungst you guys so we could have some really solid vids. I can bring my video camera also if someone wants to use it. You supply the Mini DV tapes and use it as much as you want.

Stoked got another new set of brake pads, hopefully that will alleviate the Whoa issues I was dealing with all season last year.
Front Pads: Carbotech XP12
Rear Pads: Carbotech XP10
They are full-on race pads but they are driveable on the street has they work just fine when cold. Oh yeah, they squeal like crazy too, the Hawks HP + were downright quiet compared to those..
With that combined with the fact that I completely flushed the system / rebuilt / polished the insides of my front calipers I am hoping that
1) I get great stopping power
2) My pads last more than 1 weekend and don't score the rotors like the Hawks did
3) I won't set the track on fire...
The Carbotech guy said because they are Kevlar / Ceramic based instead of Carbon they will outperform the Hawks and be easier on the rotors..
So far I am impressed with their customer service: They shipped the wrong rear pads, I called, and to fix the issue they overnighted the right ones so I could get the stuff done on Saturday.
The proof is in the pudding as they say, I guess we'll find out this weekend.

cant go wrong with car bo techs. Pads will not fail. I am just running the xp 8's on the fron and bobcats on the back--the xp's are going into their 2nd yr of tracking and show only a little wear, rotors are fine. great pads. you also will enjoy the modulation.

And the owner, is a VERY nice guy. Talked to him several times, I believe he is still based in Shelby, at least he was last year.
With the cold weather, I can't wait to see what the TTU and TTA guys run. I forsee some 1:45's and 1:46's. Ought to make for AWESOME spectating. Oh, bringing my wifes new camera down to for some pics.

How about a post of schedules of time's leaving. I plan to take of around 5:00 but if work allows I will try to leave earlier. I just need to know what's up in case I'm able to break away earlier I can meet up with you guys.

I'm going to try to leave here around 9 or 10 for the slow drive up. Since I'm towing, I'm giving myself a lot of extra time. I think I'll be slowing down other folks, so I don't believe anyone is going to want to caravan with me. I don't mind meeting up for lunch/etc though.
