Savannah is good for those freak, out of nowhere rain storms. And yes, it is HOT down there in the summer time. I lived there for five years. Just walking outside produces sweat stains.

Savannah+August=HOT

No doubt about that, but I was at RA yesterday, and it was ridiculous there too. I can't wait for fall and winter. I can get warmer but dressing heavier, but I can't get any cooler, unless I go naked, not a good solution in a race car.

Ditto.
Fall and winter is the best time to run. Remember how cold that wind was at RA in December?

You know, my buddy just bought one of those cool shirts for like 250 bucks. I think i am going to get one, I wore it at CmP and the difference is flat amazing. he would even wear it sitting out next to the car, running the pump all day. Maybe the best mod I do, keeping the driver cool is invaluable. Maybe if we fill it with beer, we could have the pleasure of draining it at the end of the day?

Yeah, it has been a while since you did a tack event, come on, come driving. I am really looking forward to it, I am thinking about doing a sway bar swap before the event. Anyone have thoughts on that.

Ok, I just pulled the trigger. I'M IN. Gonna be a hot time at RA for sure. Roebling Road was certainly a "sizzler" this past weekend and I'm sure RA in Aug will not require longjohns either.

Look forward to see all of you there.

trhoads-Sways? Upgrade? Yes. The car corners flatter now. Less upsetting to the car in high speed maneuvers. On my last mountain run, I did have to lower my front tire pressures as I was pushing a little more than stock. After dropping a few pounds the car was nice. I will have to watch em at RA when the tires get REALLY warm.

well, then i guess a trip to see charlie at Mazcare may be in order. Good thing this one falls into the "mod she can't see" category. :D

I will probably do springs toward the end of the year, but from research, the sways by themselves should help a lot. Just watching the in car video from the last autocross, nabil's car corners flatter, and silver's was the same, and he only has the sways.

val, good to see you pulled the trigger, it will be good to have another 8 out there.

Charlie convinced me to just get the sways to keep the ride more like original but handle in the corners. I also did not get the end links as he suggested they were not needed either. I would discuss it with him because your requirements may be different than mine. All said and done... getting sways was the perfect addition to my car... like you said..."mod she can't see" works. It will take a couple days to get used to the handling but you will love it. I did the RB's also because Charlie suggested them.

Still not sure if I'm working or driving. It'll depend on the timing and plans leading up to that weekend.

Don't think it will do you any good until your get your recall notice. I called my service dept. in Gainesville today and that's what they told me.

I wonder what I would have to do, or if it is really a concern. Maybe I will ask over in the recall thread.

But to those that have done the track events before, do you use vinyl cling numbers, or magentic. I think i remember someone saying that the vinyl ones will start to come off on the back straight. I need to get numbers ordered, and wanted some advice from the veterans of RA.

Cancellation policy is 1 week notice, and you loose 30 bukcs for a processing fee. So I guess if I can not get this ball joint hing fixed, I may have to look into that. Am I the only one thinking that way?

I use magnetic numbers with no tape on leading edge with no issues.

As far as the ball joint thing.....my.02.....plan on going to the event. Yes get the recall done when you can, but you would know if you were having a ball joint issue. If you were running auto x or a course like AMS , Rockingham, or Lowes Motor Speedway, I would say......probably not....those tracks have pretty abusive in to out and out to in transitions....but RA is a very smooth easy tranision course....I'd run it like I stole the time and the car......:D

I would be too. And if I had an 04 (or if the 05's get added to the recall) I would not run RA or any track type event until it was fixed.

There will be others.

Sorry, thats not exactly true. It's not the ball joint that has the problem, its the socket in the control arm. You would probably never "feel" anything going wrong until it was too late.

Catastrophic failures sometimes give no warning at all. Material cracking can hardly be seen with the naked eye. NDI (Non-destructive inspections) are needed to accuratley assess impending material failures. And if you CAN see the cracks, count your blessings because failure is usually imminent.
