Nice video, guys! Most of those turns didn't look terribly treacherous, so I bet it'd be fun to get a whole bunch of us up there some day soon. By the way, do the MT engines sound different from the AT engines? B/c your engine sounds more like a race car engine than mine, Nabil. Unless you've done some mods...? I can't remember if Charlie told me you had.
Anyway, I don't know how you stayed so quiet during that whole 7min run! I'd have been woo-hoo'ing and doing play-by-play commentating the whole way down :D

This weekend is dedicated to my website and the wife. We plan to take a drive on Sunday looking for potential areas to move to. Any suggestions for North of Lawrenceville? Actually it really doesn't matter as long as it's driving distance to the Gwinnett Co. Airport area, less than 20 mi. Three or four acres is fine.

I was chatting with SilverEight yesterday, trying to see when the group is going to drive the twistes. I'm in San Fran this weekend, but would love to have a driving day to look forward too. I'm having RX-8 withdraws, spent last weekend in Jacksonville Fla. driving a Chevy around for the TPC. 2 weekend's in a row, no beeping!!
I'm open for the following weekend!! We could do Rt. 180, hopefully without the gravel, this time. Then over to Rt.248 Russel B Senic Hwy., grab lunch in Helen and back home on Alt. Rt. 75 to Rt.115 to 9/400. That's a cool route if you decide to go this weekend. Hey send me a PM with your cell FFR.
If you have some other ideas about routes/roads please offer them up, these are just the roads I know (well), and we can drive with limited traffic.
Oh yeah, when we have more time we can go a little more to the NW toward Lk Burton, the seed lake area, some more nice roads!!
BTY-So you still are not planning to run at Atlanta Motor Speedway?

Looking for a previously-owned home? I'd take a look at some of the homes for sale on Lake Lanier. Not to mention you'll be minutes from Road Atlanta!

I think the Hwy 124 area starting at Hamilton Mill and North may be the point at which we start looking. I do like that location. We presently live south of Flowery Branch about 3 miles so I am familiar with the area you mention. Thanks for the input.

Traffic up 400 buzzed comfortably well above the speed limit and I tagged along for the ride. I knew I would get my thrills come twisty time. I decided to retrace the route I took with wht05rx8 and lewnutz and was pleased to be able to remember it exactly. The first stretch of slowly undulating roads were a nice warm up. I was eager to visit the Colin McRae trail (the twistiest bit that was covered in fine gravel last time). I wanted to drive that road sans slippy gravel and I was rewarded! Alas there was no co-driver to call out "hard left don't cut" or "right over crest". That didn't matter. I reached under the dash and found a DSC switch that called on me to turn it off. I obliged. The car swooped up and down from apex to apex. There was no drama except for the rapidly approaching trees and the occasional motor cyclist that had no prayer of keeping up with the RX8. There are two 180 degree hairpins in that stretch. Had I really been a Colin McRae, it would have been the perfect chance to execute a precise handbrake turn and drift out. Instead, I kept it in2nd and powered out with the tail just lightly flicking out unencumbered by DSC. It was exhilerating to say the least so what did I do? I turned around and did it again, and again! I finally moved on and slowed the pace to enjoy the view of the GSP sitting calmly to the side of the road hoping to nail the hapless weekend warrior. Not I! After some nutrition at the Deals Gap store, I contemplated my return. I could go the way I knew or I could could return via the Colin McRae trail. I chose McRae.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and your report has fueled my desire to get back out there. Will definitely have to do it again soon!

The roads have been swept clear of slippery gravel. The sun will be out in full strength. Time to test your mettle. Can you let it all hang out? Join us for a fun drive through some of the twistiest roads you can find. We will meet at the MacDonalds on GA400 just north of the Premium Outlets at 12:30pm and depart from there. Our drive will take us approx 3 hours to complete and will be the most fun you can have in your RX8 (with your pants on). If you are going to join us for the ride, PM me your cell number and post a reply in this thread. So far we have wht05rx8 and Nabil confirmed.

That was a fun run Saturday. I got some awesome video of the twistiest bits. DSC off can be very exciting. I have to edit it down some but I have watched thru the camcorder on my TV many times already. I will need someone to host if anyone wants to watch it.
Chris - did you make it out again today?

I haven't herd from Chris yet. I was expecting him to come by or give me a call to meet up. He wanted to give the Chase Cam one more try. I look forward to your vids. I can't host it because my site hit 35% in two days after I posted Charles's NOS run. Now I'm not quiet sure how to handle it.

Crap, I have not looked in the Se forum in a while, and I missed all of this. I love the runs up around Suches, used to do them all the time. Next time anyone wants to go on a weekend, let me know by PM. I would be up for it.
