Places in ATL...

Went in the No. GA Mtns for a twisty run last weekend with a superclean car (thanks Sky) and had fun as usual. Also it was nice to have third come along, new tires, new coilovers and all (a couple pix L8Apex) Even going off-road was fun (thanks AC8). Back home and ANOTHER carwash. I'm such a loony for clean cars.

yep, it was fun, except the offroad part. Coilovers set up pretty firm for street driving do not do well on washboard dirt roads.
But it was fun, the car drives COMPLETLY different with the new setup. I was as usual the slow poke. I guess you can only sink so much cash into a car, before the driver becomes the problem. or maybe it is just self preservation, either way I had fun, thanks for the invite val.

One place I haven't heard mentioned is 76 between Hiawassee and Clayton. Decent road, lots of turns, uphill and downhill. They have recently straightened out one place but other than that I think you'd have fun.

You have just joined in with a VERY active RX8 group. I strongly suggest you also join GARX8Club.com and meet the group. We are all on this forum as well. The other forum is just us!
Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the group, i would guess we will try to get a few cars together for another mountain run soon. Not this month, maybe in February. The weather needs to get a little warmer. Taking a break in the hills, when it is 40 outside, is not a lot of fun. we seem to do it anyway, not really sure what is wrong with us.

Wow! i feel warm and fuzy all over.....You guys are really nice. I checked out the GA. site and signed up, forty plus cars most of the in the metro area is pretty impressive.
I have a 04 VR GT 6speed with all the factory bells and wistles(Apprence package, rotory accents ect.) not much done to it yet in the after market stuff that is where i am hoping to get input from the local guys, just window tint and lowered about an 1 inch. I am finding the forums to be useless because it seems that whatever the poster has on his car is the best stuff ever..

Oh, you guys took the Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway this time. I love that road. There's a couple spots you can do over 100 on that road if you are not careful or maybe I should say, if you are careful.

Let's keep this alive
I had the most fun ever today, on a mountian run!! Thanks guys!!!!
That's one run we can invite other Ga. members too.
You know it's been 1 year to the day since the four of us did a driving day. Remember Katrina...and the gas prices going up 80c between fill ups?
sorrry no lunch..............see you all soon

Nice pix, L8. Even if none of em look good.
And I want to echo what AC8 posted, good, clean, safe, fun. We all kept a reasonable distance (for the most part), were mindful of the bicycles & motorcycles, and twisted em up pretty good. That new stretch of undulating, relatively straight, high speed road near Lake Burton was fantastic. Reminded me of that run at the rivers edge when we went to the Tail.
The Four Rotors a year before.

yeah, they are some ugly *** cars aren't they!
if we had thought about it, we should have lined them up the same as last year, since it was the same suspects.
and the road along the river last year was really awesome, i thought of it too when we were on that stretch yesterday.

Damn! I got a double-whammy... a nail in the tire AND have to replace mine now. Dang... going with the Toyo T1r at Gran Tourismo for $888.82 mounted, balanced, and front-end aligned... pretty good deal.
