Denny, I've thought about that a lot! I can't quit thinking about it! I'm really looking forward to following you and learning. I've only been there one time. Seat-Time is going to be SoOOOOOoooOooOOoo Coollllll! I sent Jon an email to make sure I was regestered and he got back with me with an affirmative. Told the wife tonight I will not be coming home Thursday evening that I will be heading down after work to Macon to spend the night with the olddragger family. I'm so pumped for this! I keep wanting to go out to my car and work on it but there's really nothing I can do other than wash it or put my camera mount in and I'm waiting till Wednesday evening for that.

I will be bringing my big *** Digital Video camera with sterio and hopefully we will be able to get someone to record all of us 8's on the track from different locations. I'm hoping my brother will show up.

Tomorrow when we wake up it be 2 DAYS! I'm not excited!

Nice hell, your in the hot seat my friend. I will be bringing my high pressure grease gun for those hard to reach places! Asmoran was fine after two months so it's not permanent but I don't think I would wear anything you care about.

Phlash, do I need to bring the HASMAT suite?

OD, all I can say is that Thursday after work (5:00PM) I'm headed down to your place. What ever happens from there is up to you! If you want to keep driving then that's fine with me. Guess I better bring my mosquito repelent just in case.

Guys dont sleep at the track, go somewhere and at least get a few good hours. Roebling is a track where you carry alot of speed, and as such, things can go ... well, it doesn't take too long to loose it, and being 'over-tired' is asking for trouble. Look at One Lap participates. About half way through the event, seasoned (and I mean SEASONED) drivers start bouncing off walls at tracks they have driven for years.

I knw I am saying what you both have been thinking, but sometimes, I have to be the voice of reason, because I want to see you safe and sound.

I agree with STF. Don't go tracking while less than fully rested. 3 days is a long weekend. Rest up!

Phlash,
Looks like I will miss the caravan. Probably gonna get out of here a couple hours behind you. Will hit you on the cell if something changes.

I am gonna try to be at RR b/f 5:30 to get teched as early as possible. Any special place you guys congregate at the track?
And do you need to have numbers in place before tech?

try your best to meet us, caravans are fun. I not sure what Lucid is driving but he claims it's loud as hell.......but if you can't make it, we'll see ya down there. I haven't heard from TA yet, but if he can't make it with us at 11-11:30, maybe you can run down with him a little later. How much later you think you'll be? I'd be nice if we could have you and TA with us. We usually try to get the area right across from the tower. OMS, are we bringing the easy-up? I can't remember if you need your numbers for tech, but you will need your helmet. So have the numbers with you just in case. To save yourself some unpacking, leave your floor mats at home. NASA should get control of the track at 5:00, if you make it before then, you may catch some of the seat time stuff going on. Remember to have your $5 to get in for the weekend (it's a track thing, not a NASA thing).

well it's weds! 4 more hrs of saving lives at the hospital. Off tomorrow--await Don. I am glad i dont have his work number-- i would probably be a pest.
Don you are the one driving so far man. i will leave it up to you if we stay at my home thursday night and leave out early---it will take us a little over 2 hrs to get there---or to head out thursday night and spend the night at the hotel--pretty sure getting a room on thursday night will not be a problem. as nabil said --it will be a long w/e. That would be a long drive for ya--so it's your call.

I am glad my wife got me back on the medication--feels much better and calmer

NOT!!!!I have been spitting it out when she wasnt looking!!!

OD, the way I see it is, wheather we sleep before going down or after going down is still going to result in pretty much the same amount of sleep... except:

Sleeping in Macon:
- We will have no room for error on time to get to Savannah and we will need a good breakfast so I'm somewhat concerned about that even if it only takes 2 hours.
- It would probably take longer to get things together to get out of the house and down the road in the morning.
- We would need to leave 4 hours ahead of the tech and that would be pretty early.

If we drive straight down:
- I could meet you at the interstate and we would be on the way. I could call you in advance and I would only have to stop when needing gas. That could possibaly save an hour of our time and 1 hour is going to be very important to us.
- We could stay somewhere before the Roebling exit which would make our night drive even shorter.
- Getting up in the morning and to the track would be a piece of cake and I do believe I would rest much better knowing I didn't have to drive all the way from Macon.
- Don't forget... you have to change your tires, apply numbers, check fluids and air and checkered tape your lights!
- If I stayed with you in Macon, we would be thinking the whole time... "WHY THE HELL DIDN'T WE JUST GO ON TO SAVANNAH!"

I vote he head on down and get a room short of the track! Do you know a cheep location?

Lamin-x

OMS just reminded me of something I bought... Lamin-X. This is precut clear film for the headlights and fog lights. It is thicker than blue tape and you don't need to apply it at every track day. You keep it on all the time. Do a search for it online and order some up.

Nice TA, is it possible to find it around town somewhere? You know what that would be good for... putting on the door before I apply my numbers. They are freaking hard to peal off and I'm sure that stuff would peal a lot easier.
