Come by the Roar Racing Poddock area and say hello please if you'll be around for the ST/GS race. I'll be spectating the 24 hour wearing some sort of RX-8 stuff for sure. I'll be the excited guy with the smile on his face from all the kickass cars around. No wait, that isn't specific enough. I'll have on a GA RX-8 Club hat more than likely for identification.

Wow - that is a long drive! Lego and I will be there, not sure where we are meeting.
Here is the schedule http://www.daytona24hr.com/24hr2005/eventschedule.html

Maybe we should meet on Saturday at 10:30AM at the Nextel Fanzone where they will have the autographs? Or we could meet earlier at one of the pits - I still vote for the Playboy that way I can droll over the car and girls at the same time!

Cool Skillmaker will be there TOO

Skillmaker, his wife, and son (Tellurium) will be arriving at approx 11:30am on Sat 27th. I'll be recognizable as the short stout (never call me fat ) man with the black 'Al Capone' golf hat on.

Picked up my tickets at the trackside window on my way back from Winter Palooza on Saturday.

Should be a grand time. Next year, I may even take a couple extra days off and get the expensive ticket pack to get into garage area, take a parade lap, watch practice, etc.

Anyhoooo... I'll bring some Alaskan Reindeer Sausage (Caribou sausage, like Polska Kielbasa) and meet up with Rhawb and crew in infield at some point.

Can't tell you how much I am looking forward to it. After all, there are 4 rx's running, and I think they all have three-rotor 20B motors. So thats like, what, 12 rotors worth?

Weather should be dandy, outlook is for 65-70 during day, and 45-55 at night, with partly cloudy..

Al, if you have infield tickets (which are practically a requirement), pretty much anything but the absurd goes. We'll have a grill, two coolers (one meat and one beer/drinks), sleeping bags, possibly a tent, and lots of other stuff. I'm pretty sure the only restrictions are guns and other common sense things like that.

If you have grandstand seating, I think you're only allowed one of those soft-sided, lunchbox sized coolers.

Anyway, as far as meeting up, I've made a list of everyone who has chimed in. If you want me to get in touch with you when we decide to meet up, feel free to send me a PM with your cell phone number and I'll add you to my "people to call" list.

Here's the list, star denotes that I have your contact info:
*Legokcen
*MoodDude
Swoope - I think I need your info again. Got a new phone and lost my numbers
SouthFL
English
its66
*alnielsen
nofxp506
*Skillmaker

Ah, sorry to hear that. I'll update the list to reflect that. Watch for us!

Anyway, something I just figured I'd add to help out anyone who hasn't gone before:

The Will-Call ticket window is NOT across the street. Last year was my first time attending and one of the workers outside the track directed us to some press pass line across the street. We didn't realize it was the incorrect line and it took us several hours to get through even with only about 20-30 people in front of us. When we got to the front, they told us we had been right next to the actual ticket window. By the time we got our tickets, they had closed off the infield due to overcrowding and didn't re-open until 4pm.

Hope I can help someone else avoid the same fiasco.

I'm soooo jealous! One day, I'd like to be the water boy! You don't want me anywhere near anything that looks like a tool.

We would have to get you a press pass so you and Ravelle could tag team the event with your cameras. Maybe we can plan that for a future race.

I'll have my laptop with me so I'll try to post a full cronicle of what's going on at Daytona, with pictures as video. I'll take some shots by the Playboy 350Z paddock too.... of the car of course.

Here's a cronicle of the weekend. I just started, but I've got them full of pictures. I'll have a whole bunch tomorrow.

I will be leaving in a couple of hours for the drive (18 hrs) down. I should be there intime for the Koni (ST) race.
We still don't have a meetup point.

I'm going to declare our meeting place to be in the FanZone. I think that's going to be the easiest place for everyone to spot, seeing as there's very little room for ambiguity with that location. All you have to do is find the brightly colored area in the middle of the track with ads all over it and "NEXTEL FANZONE" in gigantic letters adorning the entrance.

Anyone have a specific time they want to meet up? I'll start calling everyone who has PMed me probably about a half hour before the time we agree on.

Oh and Swoope, call me or PM me your cell phone number again. I got a new phone and lost all my numbers. (and conveniently forgot my old phone back in Sarasota)

Okay guys, I'll be there tomorrow at around 1pm with my 8. I'll probably just go straight to the Roar garage and then head over to the Farnbacher garage (if it won't be too much of a bother). I'll have my roommate with me - let me know if I should have any concerns.

Is the public actually allowed IN the garage, or is it like a roped off area where you can watch what's going on?

If it is roped off, anyone want to score me two backstage passes?
