It looks like it will be the RRDI and maybe a couple of others driving over to the Zoo. I'll meet whoever is awake early Sunday morning at Cracker Barrell and then if we're still looking for people we'll be over at the Caribou Coffee Shop until 8:30 and leaving there no later than 9:00 AM for the drive to Asheboro. If anyone decides to go that hasn't indicated their plans by Saturday night at 10:00PM then call my cell phone. 919-247-3884 Sunday Morning after 7:30 AM and make me aware of your intentions. If we don't know you're going we can't meet up with you or arrange a join up.

Doug, that sounds great for planning a drive down. I did some checking on Yahoo and it looks like we can take 64 west to Pittsboro and head down Hwy 902 from Pittsboro on the back roads and have a great time navigating the back roads. You and Gary have the GPS so we'll trust y'all to get us to the Zoo and Asheboro for lunch. It looks like a guy named Dan from the Greensboro area will be meeting us in Asheboro after all. We may make this an Rendezvous after all.

Pick some easy pull off along 55 or down at the 64 intersection and let me know where to meet you Sunday morning around 9:30. Are you going to bring the family along? Hope to see you all Sunday.

Bert, You can also call my home number (363-2147) when you leave BC. I can meet the group on the shoulder of 64 right pass the Home Depot on Hwy 55. I'll be taking the kids with me, they are excited about the zoo.

How did it sound when I took off? I never heard an floored 8 from the outside, but it sure sounds good inside as you know already. Bert told me that its a tradition to hammer it when leaving each rotary meeting.

More Pholtos from the Rendezvous at the Zoo

and after a quick pit stop we drove out to the NC Zoo and parked in the NA parking area,
And guess what we found in the area we parked in, the long lost twin to Greg's vert, he wants some both for bookends.
and here is a sign we found upon arrival, special parking for Buses and RV's, that stands for Rotary Vehicles!
Next, the real animals . . .

Hope everyone enjoyed the trip, an as was said we need to go back someday to cover the other half of the zoo, this is just a sample of what we saw. Thanks to all who made the trip, I appreciate the support y'all continue to provide the group and I am sorry for what those that didn't go missed, everyone please remember this,

Got a call today from an RX8 owner named Josh, from Asheboro, who met Lance at the Zoo on Sunday. He said he wanted to find out more about the group and really like seeing all the rotaries at the Zoo. He has a Sunlight Silver 8 with an aero kit and other mods and will try to make it to Raleigh on Saturday! He also has a friend with an FD and will try to bring him along, that is if the FD is running then:0)
