Living is best Modified.
It's a cool 2 hours. Im on 26, between charleston and columbia. Not too many cops sit on the interstate ![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Sumpter is a nice ride to. Real smooth roads, beautiful scenery. My ex lived up there, had memories of the Air Force with the base up there though.

New guy here. Just bought my RX-8 yesterday.
It's an '05, VR Mica, Auto, 64k miles. So far I love it. I traded in my 05 Mazdaspeed MX5 that I owned for 4 1/2 lovely years. I find this car to feel alot like my miata, only larger, more functional, and a tad more luxurious.
Maybe I'll meet up with some of you guys sometime. I live in the Lexington, Long's Pond Rd. area.

@ Mikethemachinist, I also live in Lexington. I am down the street from the court house on Hwy 1. Hope to see you around town. If any of you guys are interested there is a car meet this weekend.
Columbia Weekly Meet @ Aarons
Saturday, August 20 · 8:00pm - 11:00pm
7412 Garners Ferry Rd Columbia, SC 29209
I'm pretty sure this is the first meet at this location, I've never been to any with this crowd so I can't vouch for them! Should be interesting none the less

Eh, Garners Ferry isn't so bad, depending on where it is, hehe. I lived off of Leesburg Rd. for about 10 yrs.
I may ride out there. Is this RX-8 specific or just a general auto meet? Maybe I can get some experts to checkmy new '05 out and give me some pointers.

Anyone had any dealings with Scott Will Mazda in Sumter? They've had my car for a week and have still yet to give me a diagnosis. I'm starting to get a little pissed and of course the service manager is on vacation. I'm trying not to flip out on the service advisor but I'm at my limit. If they don't have an answer for me tomorrow I'm going to get my car and take it to Wray Mazda. So anyone else dealt with them?

Wray Mazda seems to be hit or miss, although a majority of the time I've had good luck with them. I don't think any service department, anywhere, is stellar. I have bought like 3 or 4 cars from them, and used to buy parts for my NA and NB MSM quite regularly and still buy oil filters for my Vdub and 8.

yea, i had a thermostat sticking a a month ago that led to coolant draining from the system. I took it into Wray Mazda, and while it took them a while, they also ran into more problems, when they said it would take 4-5 days to fix, on the fifth day they found out that one of the radiator cooling fan motors was bad, and took a few more days to fix. all in all, the people dealt with in service were nice

I will never go back to Scott Will again. They kept my car for a week and then decided nothing was wrong with it. They say they did a compression test but have no results to show me. I'll be waiting until the new dealership opens on Killian Rd. to have it looked at again. Wray doesn't seem to be to hot either. Graves you going out to that meet this Saturday? I heard they may have a mobile dyno there. Either way I think I'm gonna go check it out.

Ive been doing buisness with Scott Will since I bought my car from them. I had them change my Ignition coils at 95000 miles cause they finaly gave out. Kinda odd since it was suppose to be a new motor when I bought the car. they said they only changed the block and not the Ig coils, plugs, etc. cost me $500. since then I only let them change my oil. I dont live in Sumter so I dont deal with them anymore. But truly they where always good to me. I know one of the dealers Ill talk to him and see whats up.

@Futch1nc I'm not sure, I might be out of town. But I will try to make it. A guy named Curtis with an 04 BB 8 is usually out there, he's nice but not on the forum. He said he was installing a new exhaust that might be on by this weekend. If I don't make it, tell him I'll make it the next weekend. I'm H.B. by the way.

Oh on a side note, I have just joined the gamecock chapter of the SCCA which is closely tied to the Columbia area chapter. I encourage any or all of yall to try to join and participate in some autox or tracking. The link here will show you a list of people to get in touch with, depending on your area. http://www.scsportscar.com/contact/b...contact/board/

Nutall's on Devine street.
Whenever I buy a new set of tires from Tirerack.com (also highly recommended), I have them direct-shipped to Nutall's for mounting, balancing & alignment. I've also had them mount some replacement CV joints, followed by an alignment, of course. All of several experiences there were 5-star. The place aint much to look at, bur, you get what you pay for.
What's "fender roll"? Oh, never mind. I just did a websearch. Some Acura forum has a diy on it. Eh - to each - his or her own... That's gotta be hard on the ole paint job, no doubt about it.
