I got a guy fixing it for me. $900 out the door with new clutch and flywheel. Can anyone confirm that there is a meet at this car show in Sarasota Jan. 15?

Sorry if I created some confusion, but the list was for the Dupont meet. I will be rolling out to the ART show afterwards. Just let me know if you would like to ride down to Sarasota and lets see if we can gather a small convoy.

Is there a separate RX-8 "Dupont meet"? If so, can I get all of the details on this? I would love to attend a meet and especially a convoy of RX-8's. Please let me know places and times. My clutch should be fixed just in time for this weekend!

Is there a place to meet up prior to the Dupont meet so we can roll in together? I am currently staying just off of I-75 and Fletcher. My plans were to head out to the Dupont around 6:30 or so via I-275. Stay for a while and then jumping on I-275 once again and head south to the ART show around 10 or so. Grab some breakfast to kill some time as the ART doesn't start til noon. As of right now I have a few RX7's coming in from Orlando to meet up with me around 6 am at my place. Also, I am very new to the Tampa area and was wondering if anyone knows of a place where I can wash my vehicle Friday evening. I'm sure I'll find one, but if you know one off the top of your head in Temple Terrace it would be great. Hope to see some RX8's out there!

I'm not sure what the Dupont is. I live in Apollo Beach which is just south of Tampa where you're at. The University mall is right there by where you're at on Fowler. If nothing has been decided yet, we could meet there. There is plenty of places to ready and whatever around that area. As far as car washes the best one I know of is in Brandon next door to Dairy Queen on Hwy 60 (not self service and costs about $30 for their highest package). There is a better one in Sun City Center but that's even further away from where you're staying.

I found this info concerning the Dupont meet:

The mall parking sounds ideal since we can just hop on I-275 from there with ease. Thanks for the info!

Well, I am 50/50 if I will make it.
I have a Gremlin since my car was out. Right now the cooling fans are not working.(it's cold out so it not bad) The power steering stopped yesterday morning. I had to turn the car off and back on to get it back on. As well as last night on my way home the cruise control would not come on. Once again turn the car off and back on and it worked.
So tonight when I get home I got to check the fuse box under the hood to see what is going on.

No I got it back, but all the sudden it's having issues. I got to check the electircal system up front, under the hood and see what is going on.
I can drive it as long as it stays cold. But the other day I was sitting it traffic and it started to overheat since I was not moving.
I figure worst case I will have to take out the fact fans and put some aftermarket ones on a switch.

Will anyone be attending the events tomorrow? I will be rolling out to Dupont around 6:30 from my area. I will be passing University Mall at 6:45 if anyone is interested in riding out there together. If I don't hear any response then I'll just keep rolling. Staying out at Dupont til about 9 or so before heading down to the ART show. See ya out there!

Hello. I view this thread occasionally, but don't ever comment. I know you like getting together and hanging out. How about taking your car to its natural environment? Our area is chock full of autocross events every month. IMHO, the best one is FAST. Autocross is fun and competitive, and you can do it without modifying your car in any way. In fact, I have even thought about taking my wife's CX9 out to one.
Anyway, if you're interested, here is some info for the next event on February 12th. It's in Saint Pete, which might seem far if you're from Hillsborough or Pasco County (like me), but it doesn't take that long on I-275 on a Saturday morning.

I hope to see you there.

Holy crap I may even be able to attend that event...shocking...I will let you all know if I can attend.
So, amidst all my traveling over the past 2 months...I have had some time to browse some future purchases for the ol' R3. I'd like to get some thoughts on these:
I am planning to go with the racing beat only because borla isn't made for the 09+'s. Although the Racing Beat products have always been nice.
-Racing Beat Cat Back - Dual (I cant decide if this looks good or not...)
http://www.racingbeat.com/RX8/Cat-Ba...sts/16395.html
or
Racing Beat Cat Back - Single
racingbeat.com/RX8/Cat-Back-Exhausts/16394.html
I have also been looking at RB Headers. Is it even worth getting? My only real issue with the RB version is that there doesn't seem to be an 09+ application yet.

I also wanted to cue you all into a site I found (maybe a repeat). Pettit Racing out of West Palm Beach has a decent website. It also looks as though they have a supercharger for the RX as well. I have been toying with the idea of forced induction, but have been hesitant due to the nature of long term breakdown. These guys "seem" to know what they are doing. Feel free to give them a look. http://pettitracing.com/rx8/index.htm
I can't wait to be back in Tampa and get out of the cold. See you all at Dupont soon!
