I've been down to Bradenton a few times. Some friends of my family live down there.

I've been to Ellenton a few times with the 8 to buy clothes.

So far, I think I like the stock box better.. It runs OK with Stage I.. doesnt stall or anything. I seem to get worse gas mileage.. Im going to try to build a custom airbox for it.. maybe that will help. I dont know about performance gains until I get a dyno.

Yeah. I think I am going to stick with the stock box. I believe it is a waste of money. Until it is proven it will give me atleast a 10+HP gain, I'll stay away.

Anybody from further South. I'm here in the Palm Beach area. Seeing a lot more cars on the road-- I knew it couldn't take long!

Anything sounds cool to me..

What mods are you going to do?

I've done :

2 10" Kicker Solo L5 install
RE Intake
Ground Wire kit..
Stage I
Borla Exhaust
I had started making molds to do CF replacement pieces for the interior.. but it might be cheaper to buy them from Trussville now that they have them.

Based Rotarygod's thread(s) on intakes.. and personal prefrence, I think I'm going to stick with the stock intake.. so if any of you guys want to buy the RE intake at a good price let me know.

I am in Clearwater but don't have an 8 yet. I am waiting onthe 05 model. Waiting isn't too easy though.

www.streetknights.com is a good TB area forum. They have lots of get togethers and outings. A nice group of guys and gals. motorcycles, cares, everything. If it has wheels, it is welcome there.

How have the dealers been with you on maintenance? Have any of you gotten the run around that it seems like a lot of other 8 owners get?

I havent been to the dealer for maintenence yet. I haven't realy seen any problems. I do my own oil changes and I did my own Gearbox oil changes.

I forgot to mention before that I switched to Royal Purple GL 75-90.. Seems to make a noticeable difference.. or it could have been the fact that I drained out all the metal shavings in my tranny :!

It's funny how Russel Mazda keeps sending me reminders to get my oil change at 3.5k miles.. when the manual says 7k or 5k .. They have sent me 2 reminders already .. I bought the car on Sept 22 .. I have 8500 miles on my car.. SHould I have changed my oil 3 times already?????

OK you did the same thing I am doing. It would have already been done, but being stuck here at the sout hpole for more then 5 months sucked!

I am going to add Polk MOMO 6.5 component and 6x9's and 2 subs. I am building the box. How did you go about doing this since there are no preouts. The threads here don't help. Can I hook up 2 amps or should I go with 1. Who did it for you?

I just ordered the Borla after debating which 1 to go with. I didn't want to take a chance on the others since I heard good things about Borla. How is the butt dyno? Sound?

I am awaiting my stage 1. It should go out next week just in time for me to get home. We should do a little race while my car is still stock and compare. You up for it?

I am not sure about the ground wire kit. What do you think since you already have it? Any difference?

What is CF replacment ?

Thanks,
Jeff

I'll have to check out streetknights. The dealers are very good on maintenance! I negotiated from Courtesy Mazda free tires and service when I bought it. I brought it in for warranty work. My roof was falling off slightly. When Mazda built the car, they put the screws that hold it up backwards.LOL And the dead battery issue. They replaced it. I am now waiting to see if it happens again. If it does, then there is a draw somewhere and they will fix it. After that. Mazda called and wrote to make sure I was happy multiple times. The service dept around our area is excellent.
