I talked to TA2 a couple of times yesterday. He is lovin' it. There are 5 others in his run group yesterday and he was lapping them all. His front left tire was getting nicely chewed up though as there are lots of sweeping turns.

NASA's own Jim, Tom and Lynn are there as well. I spoke with Julie and she stated that they are having a grand time as well and finally get some track time in.....meanwhile she is home in NC trying to stay dry.......

Ah - Barber! TA2 - it is my favorite track to date - even better than Road Atlanta! I think you RX8 guys would even like it as it is so even for both a hp car or a momentum car. No turn there is the same and great elevation changes everywhere. You never get to relax at that track. Can't wait to get back there!
Let us know what you think TA2.

In the spirit of the Bulldogs first game of the season tomorrow, I say - Let the big dog eat!

Hi y'all makin' you guys proud driving to ol' Mustang like I stole it.
This track is F A B U L OU S (Did I mention it's Awesome?) No kidding, I can see why MD loves it so much. You guys know how partial I am to RA, well it's neck and neck with RA in my book.
Actually, turns 12 through 16 is my favorite complex of corners of any track I have been to.
Between the elevation changes, the fast banked sweepers (my fav kind of corner), and the nice smooth asphalt I just can't get enough of the place.
It's a pretty tight and very technical track but it's very flowing (Unlike CMP) it's a rythm track and even though the corners a fairly tight you can generally cary a good amount of speed.
I was in the "B" group today and had some great runs with Mark (Whom runs a Bullit with NASA) and another guy in a Mustang Cobra, the 3 of us were running together ***** to the walls kickin' a$$, taking names, and just having a blast. I'll post the videos next week.
I can't believe I have another whole day with 6 sessions tomorow. My friend Ivan is comming and I'll be giving him rides. I guess I'll be due for yet another set of brake pads...
Jim Pantas and Tom Manning (Both Mustang guys) are running most of the track operations and it's running very smoothly. In fact I have yet to see a session that does not start exactly on time as per schedule.
Yesterday nite we had a caravan of 200+ Mustangs going through Birminhgam, the news helicopters were there and the Police was blocking traffic to let us through. We stoped in Homewood which is a nice shopping area, there was a live band belting out great R&B tunes (Like "Mustang Sally") and there was food and a car show. All and all we had a grand time. The Mustang Club of America knows how to throw a party.
Y'all take care, Gotta go, need sleep!

TA2,
My favorite section is from turn 6 to turn 9, going through that corkscrew into that bowl is some of the most fun I have ever had on track! There is only one bump on the entire coarse, at turn 6, and as long as you straighten the wheel out over it - no big deal.
Also, you have to love turn 4, coming over the rise and getting airborn on that turn can get your heart going!
The only thing I wish they had was more run out room from the track to the wall, but other than that, it is a perfect track IMO.
Yet, the way I learned the turns - there are only 15 turns at Barber. So our turn numbers probably don't match. http://www.barbermotorsports.com/pdfs/trackgeometry.pdf

Barber is closer than RR or CMC for many of us. If want to do an event there! MoodDude, what is a good one to drive? I think NASA is working out a deal for the future. It was mentioned in class at NASA RA.

Allright Y'all here is the first Video. It's a quickie, I have not spent the time to find the best / smoothest laps yet but I'l be out of town on business all week and did not want to let y'all wait that long.
The setup:
I am chasing Mark in his Bullitt and Mike in his Cobra (The Yellow car) . I had to work pretty hard to keep up as they are both pretty quick and their cars have better suspension, more HP (Both shorter gearing, Cobra - 60hp, Bullitt 20hp more), and more tires (Bullitt on Victoracers)
The last car I pass is an 03 Cobra that puts down 550hp at the wheels, he does the whole track in 4th gear for fear of looping it out of the corners from too much hp / torque
Anywho, here's what it looked like for 5 laps
Chasing a Bullitt and a Cobra around Barber
I hope y'all marvel at the track and enjoy my improved video quality (Sound is still a bit lacking, new mic should be in soon)
In all it was well worth the price of admission and another set of Hawks pads

TA2 - you look like you had a much better line than the Bullitt and the Cobra!
Just one comment on your line, on Turn 4 - when you start going faster you must straighten out the wheel on the rise since you get a little air born. That is where the GT3 got air born, was still trying to turn and slammed into the wall right in front of me.

As for getting airborne... Don't quite have enough Ponies (Pun intended)

I would give it all the sauce since before the prior corner's apex and there was not even a hint of intent to fly...
The guy with the 540 rwhp cobra did say that his was threatning to fly off and he would back off before the crest.
