Ok, thanks. I've been looking at the project RX-8 editorials in Modified. They were using the RB mid on their car with no prob. Either way I go, both products (RB and BHR) seem like a pretty safe bet.

I had no idea I'd have to supply so much or modify parts to get the stock magnaflow to fit in when they said it was a direct fit but I finally tracked everything down, modified what I needed to and got it in. At $290.00 shipped it was by far the cheapest option. It passed inspection just fine too.

Hey guys I've been MIA for a bit with summer session class and working and such...Anyway I finally passed inspection after having my heads and tails completely wet sanded buffed, glassed and polished. The whole nine yard on fronts and backs. They look brand new and I'm actually not to sorry I had to do it. It cost me over a hundred which I guess isn't too bad. I'm already tired of the front stock look again so I'll have to get some agressive eyelids again soon. I have read probably 40 threads in the past couple weeks about Lamin-x and they have a couple light films that barely decrease the light output but give a darker look. On a black 8 it just looks so much cleaner IMO, John can relate. So i'm thinking about getting into those at some point once I make a little cash this summer. btw I was going to switch tails with Ryan for inspection but his right one is glued in and he couldn't get it out. Worked out anyway though. In the meantime here's a shot I took at UNCdub before I got the heads/tails done. Also, whens the next meet?

Hey so did anyone want to try and meet up sometime soon? Go for a cruise or something? I've been trying to route a good cruise through wilmy. I know John isn't in town until the end of the summer, but I'm just curious for any input!

I've noticed a Silver S1, pretty sure the owner works at Walgreens in Swansboro and a another Winning Blue in Morehead. Pretty sure the owner works in the little plaza where gamestop is, it's parked right behind it.
It was kind of creepy when I first saw it because I thought it was my car until I noticed it had a sunroof lol

Well damn...how the heck did I miss this thread. Not currently IN Wilmington, but from Wilmywood!!! Nice to see the 8 crowd holding it down!! I'll check in next time I come back to Wilmington for a visit. I pretty much grew up in Wilmington, went to UNCwomen for about a semester, LOL...before I joined a band (Billyclub Fest) and dropped the hell out. Take care fellow Wilmingtonians!!! Great to see you guys have a good 8 community going.

So.... How has everyone been? I've been burned out between back to back training packages, barely driven the 8 in the past month and some change. Looking to pick up that BHR ignition kit pretty soon, any plans for a future meet?

Well I am still at Lejeune for now until the semester starts. Already found a place in Wilmy for next semester and I am going to sign the lease this weekend. Once I get back, I am all about trying to get some meets together even though our numbers are dwindling. royalfitz is trying to sell his car last time I talked to him and we had a member leave right before summer started. If anyone sees/talks to any RX8 owners around the area mention this thread so we can get some more people!

Hey guys I am the new owner of a winning blue 2004 RX-8 and Wilmington local. I recently sold my 2007 Scion TC and picked up 8 last night. I see Royal riding around Mayfair all the time. I look forward to doing a few starter mods so bear with me as I am a total noob when it comes to RX-8's and might have some questions.

Hey guys sorry I haven't responded in a while. Been busy getting everything squared away with the 8. i took the car into mazda to get an oil change, tire rotation, and full checkup. turns out i need to get front brake pads replaced, rotors have to be turned, and theres a slight leak in the intake. thats getting done on tuesday. (there goes $900 but i got mazda to throw in a free wash/wax/detail). then i have to pay another $570 because i want to get a dent fixed around the license plate and getting the sunroof wind deflector removed. I want this car in perfect condition. Everything should be done by Friday so ill take lots of pics when its completed. Also, looking at some tein basic coiliovers. Anyone know someone who can install them?
The car is a 2004 winning blue 8 with the grand touring package (not sure if that includes the bose system and sunroof. It also has a rear spoiler, 6 cd changer, leather seats). Only downside is its an automatic. yea i know dont hate me. But the car has only 51,000 miles on it. And somthing went wrong with the first engine and mazda put a new one in and so the motor only has 18,000 miles on it. i bought it from a private seller who bought the car brand new. They were a non smoker and kept it garaged. I love this thing! I havent seen another winning blue so if you guys see me, give me a beep.

And yes John i have done a lot of research on these rotary engines! Im prepared for bad gas mileage with premium gas prices, lots of oil checks, and an engine that sounds like a sowing machine ha. btw i see you are at UNCW. i just graduated from there 2 months ago. feels good to be free!

Some people see the rotary engine as needy. I see these cars as involved. As an owner you must be involved with your car. You have to be more aware of it and what's going on. I love the intimacy you grow with them and it's easy to get attached. I've had mine for over 3 years and noticed that you either grow to really love them or you get rid of them. Yes it's all worth it.
