pdxhak - I agree that they don't owe anyone anything. However, good communication with your customer base can go a long way and I think that is what RK is trying to say.

+1 to pdxhak: RB owes us nothing, this isn't even a 'product' yet and we are not actually their 'customers'.
Racing Beat has a LONG PROVEN RECORD of delivering high quality parts. Be patient guys, I'm sure it'll be out when it's ready.

the key word in ETA is estimated. So far they're a WHOPPING 3 days past their estimate. Relax guys...

Remember R&D is a moving target. It is very difficult to set a definitive timeline when developing a product. This is a busy time of year for product vendors. Temps are warming up, race teams are on the track and enthusiasts all around are ramping up for shows and weekend track adventures.
We all want updates with the latest info but sometimes it is better not to know. Lets just hope it does not take as long as their header to come to market.

And that is all well and good...but what RK is getting at is that they just need to say that. Instead of saying we are aiming for Feb/Mar...say "Currently in final testing. No ETA yet on a release date."

If everything goes as planned, we should be able to have thes completed unit in February or March. Check back for updates and pricing.
If there's a R&D issue with the shortened silencers that they had already designed then it's obviously going to be a couple more months before they get this out. I don't know where you all live but I only get to drive my 8 for 6 months out of the year so losing most of the Summer isn't really worth my time.

you lose your summer driving if you don't have a midpipe?
I live in Sunny CA and Racing Beat is 10 minutes away.

I don't 'believe' anything but what RB told me. They said they'd be giving out updates and it's been 3 months since they gave us anything formal and the informal things point to this delay having absolutely nothing to do with R&D (phone calls quoted in this thread indicate possible delivery delays or possible issues with the presilencer that were delivered).

I would not depend on the AP to be a quiet midpipe if that's what you're after. I recently replaced my DR AP with an ExoticSpeed catpipe, and while there was a decrease in volume it wasn't quite what I was expecting. If you are looking for something in a similar db level to the Mazsport, RB is going to obviously be it since they are using the same manufacturer's silencers/resonators/whatever you want to call them (albeit a different size for one of them from the Mazsport).

Latest update
Jim finally sent me an update--hang tight guys!
Jonathan,
Thanks for the interest. I've been so busy over at the purchasing/manufacturing office desk that I've just not had the time to address some of the "other" stuff that has built up. So, I'm in here on Saturday in order to clear up the backlog.
Here's the latest on the resonated mid-pipe, you can post this to the forum. We've received the revised presilencer units that we intend to use in the pipe section. They've been re-sized so that they'll fit onto the chassis without any concerns of contact or needing the chassis brace spacers. (These issues were a concern with the original configuration with the Mazsport design.) We are currently waiting for the 3" OD tubing section from our supplier.
During this time period I read through the thread in the forum and came across a concern from one member that had used the Mazsport unit and raised a concern about the packing material in the forward presilencer. I contacted him personally via phone and we spoke at length regarding this issue. We've decided to undertake some "stress testing" using various presilencer configurations once the components arrive to evaluate these concerns. To add a bit more complexity to the matter, Gerry our shop foreman and lead fabricator, severely fractured his ankle and is on medical leave for another few weeks.
Best regards,
Jim Langer
