I'm shooting flames when I pushing it hard and when changing gears only. I think it's the result of too much fuel being trown in the pipe while it's very hot. That's why you can create these flames easily by playing with the throttle.
I didn't see any flames while I was on the high way, even if I was pushing hit hard (too see how fast I was able to get to the speed limit ) It was only when I accelerated from a red light that the flames flashed, with no particular sound. It sounded like a kind of "wooof" not a "pop".

I figured out the the flames start to appear after a while, when the LTFT and STFT are starting to become crazy (±10). I guess that my MAf is not scaled correctly and that'S why the PCM is working so hard to correct the trims. I know that my coils are finished as well, I will ask the BHR guys for a new set soon.

I can't imagine any other reason than quieting the mid-pipe. The result is an almost stock exausth sound, of course the MS exaust makes it louder.

I installed mine on Friday and had no problems with the install. The instructions racing beat included are sufficient for those doing it themselves. I would guess it took me an hour to change the midpipe, however I also changed the oil while I was under the car so I didn't really keep track.
Like pgrothe said its really not that much louder. I have the Racing Beat exhaust on mine with the revi ram air duct. I feel that you hear more exhaust noise when you are on it from inside the car instead of the humming (sp?) of the intake before the installation of this pipe. I will be doing a couple autocross events this coming weekend so I figure I can just take a video there.
As for the flames I have no idea...I can't see from inside the car obviously. No loud popping noise, but you can hear it backfire when you downshift or play with the throttle for sure.
Yet another great racing beat product!!

As promised here are a couple videos of how this midpipe sounds from an autocross event I went to this weekend. I'm not a pro at autocross so please don't rip my driving apart, however constructive criticism as to how I can improve is always welcome.

Bought my RB midpipe off of RK today and had it installed. Sound is about the same inside the car and outside the tone got deeper but no louder on my AP exhaust. Absolutely love it. Video forthcoming...hopefully.

DeViLbOi and I had our cars side-by-side and we took turns revving to 4k rpm.
We both have the AP cat-back, he (obviously) has the RB mid-pipe and I have the MazSport.
I was impressed with the sound overall and it actually sounded a little quieter than the MazSport.
The RB also had a deeper bass tone.
We will definitely get a video with the two together.
1st mid-pipe I've heard that I can honestly say beats the MazSport (and I am really picky on sound).
The sound was very close, so it wouldn't be worth it going from the MazSport to the RB, but the slightly better sound and not having to permanently remove the cross braces puts RB on top (in my opinion).

I still want to get one of these, but my toy spending money is in my PayPal account and RB doesn't accept Paypal for some reason. RB, if you're listening, please start accepting Paypal... it's not that I don't have other ways to pay, but if I use my Paypal stash the wife doesn't find out about it
