Why don't you take this occasion and try to have a single, well silenced midpipe?
Mazsport's product was heavy and you don't really need a second silencer if you use a good one near the headers. I have a couple of papers to prove this, but i don't know how loud mazsport's one was under full throttle from a 3ft distance.
I'm not trying to dig you all down but since you have the opportunity to have a custom built midpipe to your own specs then why sticking up to the old clichè?

You're right but trying to make a better product than a previous one is something you would all like i think.
I mean, if we look at mazsport's midpipe it was a very expensive midpipe that had the same weight of our stock catalyzer (about..) and you have to consider that each muffler\silencer\resonator should increase backpressure when compared to a straight pipe if i'm not mistaken.
A single resonator will suffice (around 110\112db from 1meter @ WOT) if you place it wisely

If its not gonna be so expensive like mazsport Iam in
Like jason form rx7store said Its just a pipe with silencer should not cost 500$$$.
And looks like BHR is coming up with some midpipe too

well, we will just have a few more options then.....if Ray has a different design for a midpipe, then fantastic. Options are great for our community!
Like I said I will let Jim know about the single resonator and see what he says and leave it up to them. If they do decide to stay with the dual resonators, I am sure everyone who buys them will be happy. My DR midpipe is great. I had no problems with it other than it hanging a bit lower.

Based on RB's other prices however, I am sure we will get a great quality product at a great price. Take a look at their header, midpipe, and catback exhaust. Very decent prices. Top notch quality.

Power Pulse.
They used to sell them in the $79 range. So figure $160 for the silences... a normal midpipe is about $120. So they should be able to sell them for over $100 less than mazsport.
Everyone should also keep in mind that due to the drop off in demand for materials like steel, prices for commodities have dropped by over 50%. Exhaust stuff should be dirt cheap. Back in 2004 I paid $450 for my borla. It went up over $200 as price of steel increased.

What is the biggest problem? The inside of the front resonator MELTS
into metal chunks! Watch and listen!
OK, understand my car was using thr RB race flash, but that's a big problem for anyone who would want to lean out and tune the car. I mean, isn't that the main reason for getting a mid-pipe anyway?
Then, fitment was ok, but basically you needed to remove both underbraces to make it fit without banging...or use 1.5" spacers to get the braces low enough! Worse when it was in place and on a very mildly lowered car (mine) I was hitting things...not fun on anything less than nearly perfect roads.
If RB is to dup this, please, please re-engineerr your cans so the work at high EGTs. Mine lasted less than a couple thousand miles before I noticed this. After sending it back to Scott for a fix, you can guess I'm mid-pipes - less - to this day
Don't resurrect a flawed product!

Straight through, no packing or material to melt and fall apart.
My car NA with 3" catless turboxs with just the insert for sound supression:

Agreed. My opinion of the resonator I had was mixed, Quiet, yes, beautiful looking, yes...BUT I experienced some BIG problems as well. Any remake should address and overcome these glaring shortcomings.

I have gone well over a few thousand miles with mine and have not had those kinds of issues.
Thanks for the heads up though.

I don't even know anyone else who has this mid-pipe! BTW, you won't notice this problem *on the car*. I didn't realize until I took the pipe off and did a WTH is this! I did notice what I thought was a subtle change in loudness or perhaps better described as boomieness of the sound before I took it off.

Yes we do. Trust me, this was the heat...the can was blue, the inside packing was melted into metal chunks, the pipe running thu the can was intact, the can was pristine. The only thing that got hit was the cross brace from being so low, not the cans.
Anyhow, I always thought a turbo exhaust had less heat than OEM do the the turbo cooling the exhaust down?
