0-60 with turbo

say you put a g-reddy kit on an rx8, what sort of 0-60 times would you get? i mean would it be able to keep up with an sti, or would it crack 5 seconds, i know there are a lot of variables but is the difference huge?

thanks

Ask some of the FI guys what they suspect the car "feels" like from 0-60, prob best ur gonna get. Dont think any of them have actually formally tested the 0-60, maybe with some kind of data/scan tool. I have never heard any concrete numbers from any specific application.

Either way, dont think ur gonna be in the "big boys" category in the 0-60 department. U might be able to keep up with a stock sti and the like but ur purpose for FI shouldnt be to beat those guys from 0-60 thats fo sho..

You'd be better off trying to beat them from a roll, but you shouldn't race. :-)

Was it Brett? Don't remember..

at whp level?

a greddy kit at 240whp will produce different results from a greddy kit at 293whp.

so lets just say less than 5.9 seconds.

Standard 6MT w/ Greddy BOT vs slight modded + tuned 6MT N/A, 0-100km/h different is when the BOT reach 100km/h, the N/A being left about 3-4 meters behind. Then again, it depends on the driver and tires too. Hard to give an accurate info. But for sure, when reaching the top speed, it will be a bigger different in terms of distance, assume both same standard gear ratio and final drive.

just look at the hp/wgt ratio and that will tell you a lot.

OP: Based purely on the first post you made, this is the wrong car for you.

But, if you wanna know anyway, yes FI done right should get you under 5. But you'll have to remember that on top of the thousands you're going to spend getting there power wise.... you're also going to be snapping the OEM tranny real quick based on your interests, and have to be replacing that with something much beefier.

You dont need to reply with anything like oh i was just saying, i wouldnt really drive it hard or abuse the tranny, i'd be careful. we all know better. You may in fact drive it like a granny, but just in case you dont - even once in a blue moon, remember this... There are PLENTY of N/A cars popping trannies... a good example of what abuse at N/A power levels can do - we have a AutoX'er on the forum who is pretty competitive he's - been through 4 or 5 trannies

I'd say I do 0-60 in about 8 seconds. The first 3.5 seconds is zero to about 3 miles per hour. Then from 3-60 in 4.5. Then again, I've been boosted 23k miles, had the car 54k miles and still have a perfectly good stock clutch/trans. I don't run a greddy kit and a greddy would probably take me from a dig unless I really launched hard which I refuse to do (well, an upgraded 300 whp greddy). Then again, most greddys would probably hit 60 in third and I might be able to squeeze it in second. Stock redline is 62 mph in an 05 tranny second gear right? I forget.

Nonetheless, I would never try to take a 4wd car from a dig. An STi will make more power than I do for probably less than $2k in aftermarket. I've actually never run my car in the quarter. I just enjoy having it. It's also filthy!
