2009 R3 couple of questions
Got a couple of questions in regrads to my 2009 R3.
First is I'm looking for a good catback system and a good mid pipe does anyone know what systems will work with the 09 and sound the best? I was looking at agency and racing beat.
Also, I was looking to get an upgraded clutch, 9 lbs flywheel, and underdrive pullies. Are they worth the money will it indeed help with acceleration?
Lastly, I have herd the 8s can do 70mph in 2nd gear with basic bolt ons is this true? If so does any one know what mods?
Thanks
Bryan

never had a bad product from racing beat. I'm a fan. Don't have anything on my 09 R3 yet though, so I can't speak from experience. The only experience I've had from RB is with rx-7 products, and they are legit.
If you wanted to increase your maximum speed in a gear, I would think you have to either change your gearing, or increase your redline... increasing power will only get you there quicker. I suppose you could get bigger wheels/tires too...?
what's the big deal with hitting 70mph in 2nd?

You would need to raise the redline to increase the top speed in 2nd gear. This requires the Cobb Accessport or equivalent to reflash the PCM. I don't know what RPM you'd need though for 70 in second.
Also larger diameter tires will help decrease your effective final drive ratio but also slow you down as they will be heavier and have a longer moment arm reducing the force you're putting to the pavement from the torque transmitted to the wheel.

the advantages of a light flywheel and pulleys are not worth the money for a new car..
now when the car has 60k miles on it and you have to change a clutch, better idea..
the mods to get a rx8 to 70 in second gear is a new rear gear. not really bolt on.
i would spend some time with your owners manual and the stickys..
