2nd time ignition problem
mazsport igniton solution. had it put in my car. ran fine for about 2 3 months daily driven. then all of a sudden the car starts to misfire idle a little rough. i take it out and put back my stock coils. car runs perfect. i send the mazsport back to SCOTT mazsport. they took a look found nothing put it on another car ran fine. then he said he found a problem and should be fixed. a moneth and half later i receive it back. i put it back into my car and same probelm as before. A MISFIRE!! all my connections are good. its a simple hook up!!
any suggestions...

Do you tune your car with a weak coil? Then again it would run better I suppose but I would take it to a friends car (another RX8) and see if it fails in that car also. Check your spark plugs recently by chance? All I can suggest is to check plugs, wires, and vac lines. Give us some feedback after another once over inspection.

i did my plugs when i ordered the ignition. car runs fine with stock coils. put upgraded and it misfires. no vacs are injured during change. i did many check ups. made sure wires are going to right plugs. etc... made sure they are snapped onto plugs and not just sittin there. made sure grounds were ok..
and i dont have other rx8's here to test it on.. none around me has one to try it on..

Why don't you contact Scott again? i don't know much about Mazsport's warranty but there shouldn't it be at least 1year?
Other than that, there are now new coil upgrades possibilities out there, if after all you're not totally satisfied you might want to try something new.

wowo ok... well i had car running and was pulling wires off the coils. idk if that was bad move or good move. first coil i dont think there was anything. 2nd coil pulled wire off and sparks and arcs going everywhere and i was zapped to death.. when i first had this issue my check engine light was on and read misifre cyl. one. so meaning coil pack one! i told him that

haha. but no i was shockd prettu good many times quickly! lol.
i went out and took a power plug form coil one and put it on coil2 . (swapped them around) car runs good now. sounds good. that was front leadign and front tailing. what will happen to my front trailing if im not getting spark? would i notice it not getting spark? it idles pretty smooth, no misifre sound. and upper RPMS in still pulls and harder then the stock did. even in lower rpms.
someone call me please? 772-828-1490 so i can explain in person if you dont understand this message. lol

so obviosly it isnt a coil if i put wire harness number 2 onto 1 and 1 onto 2. it has to be in the wire.. it cant be the ignitor because i wouldnt have anything else where. they all tie together.. oh il get this fixed! but like i said if i dont have anythign to my traling what will happen?

has to be the connection from the harness. where they junctioned the 4 connectors together. if 3 out of 4 are working its somthing stupid. and the harness plug is bad.
coil good and spark plug wire is good.<-- confirmed

you totally pay attention, . it is just likely a harness connector not pushed in far enough..
but the wiring of this is a bit more complicated.. but once again it is likely a connector...
it is usually something simple! but what do i know!
beers

Right then, i'm not much into this ignition upgrade so i don't know how he could physically fix it. Running with 3 plugs and a leading swapped with a trailing one is not the best solution though, the OP should find a solution.

Only one side of the coil wire harness is numbered.
When I called Scot he told me "the longest one is #1" (or 4?); that is dumb to need to ask.
Just number the crazy leads on both sides of the "Ignition box" to avoid this issue (and possible save someone some engine damage)
My Mazsport coils kept dying.
When the #2 lead coil dies, and leaves #2 trailing working, you get long blue flames from the tailpipe.
I now have the (crappy) stock coils again.
