mmm, i suppose it would allow direct ram air...but for the cost of cutting the hole and making it look nice, on top of the cost for the intake, I find it hard to believe it will be all that worth the money.

Wouldn't that suck up a lot of water? Not sure that is good unless your car is strictly for racing.

If you´ve seen the OEM air induct on the rx-8 you´d be pretty convinced that the "stylish" hole in the bumper actually fulfills a purpose. I certanly think so, so I did one myself on my Veilisde front bumper. It took a day or so + the sanding before paint.

so, would the rain be a problem?
i'm also wondering if the inlet would align w/ any of the short ram intakes like the k&n or the umnitza.

Ran would not be a problem. You aren't in a submarine. Not saying it couldn't get water in it or that it wouldn't. You would to some extent. Don't expect it to damage the engine or hydrolock though.I would make sure that the lowest point inside the air box has a small hole driled in it to allow any drainage. If you get enough water inside it to hydrolock your car, you were driving in a flood and shouldn't have been there in the first place.

yea that hole looks like the ms kit with a mole. I actually like it would work pretty good with some of the intakes that are out in the market right now. I especially like the carbon fiber trim on the bottom end of the bumper.

However I do remember a poster that had the kit before and said that it cracked really easily so I might be weary of buying this kit from acosta.
